It was great to join the Cisco Networking Academy Partner Summit in Paris today, reflecting on our partnership with governments, educational institutions, and stakeholders across Europe to equip citizens with essential digital and cyber skills. A huge thank you to our dedicated partners who help us reach hundreds of thousands of learners each year. I worked in three of the top five storage leaders. They all have pros and cons be honest. HPE is the only one goes truly software defined storage (SDS) direction with Alletra MP. Alletra MP is NOT a storage system model but a common storage platform which define its “character” by which SDS put on it. It can be block, file, object storage depends on what SDS installed and it is truly share-everything and truly scale-out architecture. Make it unique values in the market.

Financially, unbundling ServCos, NetCos, InfraCos and TowerCos business seems attractive. However, to unbundle, there must be a smooth business separation with defined benefits. Most importantly, it must support the evolution that support an ecosystem-based delivery of next-generation infrastructure & services. As 5G progressively pushes massive densification in urban areas it also pushes the requirement of increased fiber connectivity. It may be that individual operating entities are positioned better to support these needs than a vertical integrated entity. On, the other side the separation may backfire, example higher transaction costs in their interactions between the entities. Hence it may not be the magic bullet, but something to be evaluated carefully to reap the benefits of enhanced focus and efficiencies. The key is to avoid overbuild at the same time preserving and creating value with augmented agility and efficiency. One other trend we observe is the emergence of network neutral host for indoor connectivity. From the sharing of purely passive infrastructure these neutral host wholesalers can deploy active infrastructure (#MOCN, #MORAN) and above all support a shared management responsibility with the Operators in terms of fulfilment and assurance of these indoor networks. Effectively becoming a NetCos Neutral Host. Multiple Telcos can share these networks and not only reduce their CAPEX, also at the same time improve operational and energy efficiency. With the drive for cloudification the #Telco architecture has seen a shift with towards a layered one, Infrastructure, Platform (PaaS/CaaS), Applications, Orchestration and Automation with cross layer interactions supported by #OpenAPIS. We observe the beginning of disaggregation with the decoupling across the layers. Agree with you Marco Pizzo we are in ideal position at Capgemini to facilitate this technology and business delayering by providing intelligent, agile, and cloud-centric secured network services that can be combined into secured pre-configured site types leveraging validated service chains.
