Nicolas Fränkel 🇺🇦🇬🇪: "My demo of OpenTelemetry Tracing features two Spring Boot components. One uses the Java agent, and I noticed a different behaviour when I recently upgraded it from v1.x to v2.x. In the other one, I’m using Micrometer Tracing because I compile to GraalVM native, and it can’t process Java agents. In this post, I want to compare three methods: Java agent v1, Java agent v2, and Micrometer Tracing."

Generate Unit Test with Intellitest Visual Studio teams works on integrating Intellitest as built-in feature. The main goal is to generate test by right click on your class name or method. Then you can pick up the test you willing to keep. The downside is, that only available in Entreprise preview version and .Net 6 and above for now. If you want to give a try, you have to get the last preview version of Visual Studio and activate the feature: 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 > 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 > 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 > 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 > 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 .𝐍𝐄𝐓 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 .𝐍𝐄𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 #visualstudio #softwareengineer #testing #intellitest #dotnet

😮 ChatGPT 4o is out ! It will replace all developers soon, check it out : Here is my conversation about coding with the newest and most up to date version of OpenAI. 👨💻 : In java, is there a side effect to calling "ByteBuffer.compact()" twice ? 🤖 : [...] calling compact() multiple times in a row is redundant and has no additional effect. 👨💻 : 🤨 are you sure about this ? 🤖 : [...] Thus, calling compact() twice in a row does not change the buffer's state after the first call. 👨💻 : 🤔[...providing proof] so calling compact twice does have an effect! 🤖 : [...] my initial explanation stands corrected, calling compact() twice will not move the position. 👨💻 : 🤬 Here is the official documentation: [...] 🤖 : [...] This confirms that calling compact() twice in a row does indeed have an effect on the buffer's position, and your initial analysis was correct. 👨💻 : 😢 Thank you Conclusion: use your [own] brain.
