How does an electric furnace operates ? ⚡ ➡️ The only source of energy is electricity: no fossil fuel used. ➡️ Raw materials are introduced at the top, where a cold crust forms at 100°C, while at the bottom, the glass is heated to 1,500°C. ➡️ The glass flows vertically, descending over a height of approximately 4 meters. #Verallia #GlassInnovation #ElectricFurnaces #Sustainability

Transforming our plant’s landscape, inspiring change: meet the winners of Nature on Site 2024 🌿 For its 6th edition, the Nature on Site competition once again highlighted the imagination of Verallia employees, allowing them to propose projects to conciliate nature with our industrial activities and optimize the well-being of our employees. After reviewing 8 inspiring projects, we’re proud to announce this year’s winners: 🏆 Porto Ferreira, Brazil Rethinking all parts of their exterior in a context of extreme heatwaves, by creating a resting space with Brazilian natural flora, a parking enabling rainwater absorption, and encouraging soft mobility with bike racks. 🏆 Rosario, Chile Planting with the employees a 50,000 m2 green area at the plant’s main entrance, using native, insect friendly and low water consumption species and creating a water retention basin. These projects reflect Verallia’s commitment towards sustainability, biodiversity, employee well-being and teamwork.
