🤩 You are now more than 1.5 million people made aware by Climate Fresk and 70,000 Freskers, all over the world! Thank you so much! 💚 It's with great joy, gratitude and pride that we announce we've passed the symbolic point of these two new milestones. Facilitators and participants are two sides of the same coin: that of an ever-growing investment in the fight against climate change, on a planetary scale. It's a great source of hope to see these two groups growing day by day. 🌍 But this success only makes sense if our community continues to grow. It's vital that we continue to inform ourselves and others about the climate crisis. So we'd like to extend 1.5 million thanks to the curious people who took part in a Climate Fresk workshop. We encourage them to join our ever-more-motivated community of Freskers (to whom we also extend our warmest thanks), who work daily in the field to spread the word about this wonderful project. 🤩 A look back at Mural Fest 2024! 🎉 The Climate Fresk community in Spain has succeeded in organizing an exceptional event this autumn: a new edition of Mural Fest. It's both a seminar for the community and a weekend for the general public to take part in several free workshops, Climate Fresk and others. It took place at Apocapoc BCN, in Barcelona. 💫 Last year's event brought together 100 people. But this year, there were 100 a day, and even 150 on Saturday! So a total of 35O participants came to take part in this moment of exchange, encounters and new learning. 👏 A huge round of applause to El Mural del Clima España teams for their organizational work, which made these few days a memorable success! 💫 The team of volunteers from El Mural del Clima Colombia will be at COP16 Biodiversity! 🧩 For several days, the team will be holding regular workshops. This major event will be an opportunity for them to meet decision-makers and key players in the ecosystem. 👏 We would particularly like to congratulate Anne-Laure Thivolle and Maria Polanco Barrero for all their hard work in organising this event. 👥 Portrait : Aisha Al-Balushi, country coordinator for Climate Fresk in Oman 🧩 Aisha is an environmental engineer. She is the only facilitator in the sultanate and was trained in 2023. She took her first online workshop during the Covid 19 pandemic, a moment that had a profound effect on her. According to her, Climate Fresk is an empowering tool, helping to counter misinformation and ‘understand the challenges we face’. 🤝 In her words: ‘Seeing people from different backgrounds come together, share ideas, and identify practical actions they could take within their own spheres is incredibly rewarding. It reinforces my belief in the power of education and collaboration in driving meaningful change.’ 🌍 From her experience as a Fresker, she particularly appreciates the sense of belonging to an international community. Interacting with people from all over the world through the association has increased her belief in collective action to achieve positive change. Her goal is to soon have Freskers in all 11 of the governorships that constitute her country. 🇬🇳 Climate Fresk is expanding in Guinea! 🧩 Thanks to the work of our local facilitators, this summer Climate Fresk reached out to new audiences in Guinea. The deployment took place as part of the 6th Climate Camp, organised by the NGOs PRONG and Autres possibles. The workshop brought together 28 young people. 26 of them were then trained in facilitation and began to work in pairs to support each other in their first sessions. As a result, they reached 104 other young people. 💫 To highlight this success, the Minister for Youth and Sport was present at the event and paid tribute to the initiative. He was even able to enjoy a first express contact with Climate Fresk thanks to a Fresk Quizz and really appreciated the experience. 👏 A huge well done to everyone involved in making this event a great success, especially our facilitators Florence N'DA KONAN and Aboley Grace Diby! 🌍 Would you also like to join the international community of Freskers? 🇲🇽 The Climate Reality Project América Latina is organising Climate Fresks for young people from all over Mexico! 🧩 The programme is called ‘Operation COP, Youth Ambassadors for Climate’ and is being run by The Climate Reality Project Latin America. It's a crucial initiative that aims to empower the next generation of environmental leaders. By taking part in the workshops, these young people are equipped with the practices and knowledge they need to get actively involved in the fight against climate change. 🎉 A huge round of applause to both the organisers and the participants for their remarkable work and their contribution to the programme! ✨ Our Freskers have talent: discover Pierre Benreguig's video series, ‘Through Freskers’ eyes’! 🚂 Pierre Benreguig is a Blue Belt facilitator. A few months ago, at the end of 2023, he took on an adventure: crossing an entire part of Europe, doing his utmost to avoid taking plane during his journey. 📹 This became an opportunity for him to meet the Climate Fresk community in the six countries he travelled through. His series of videos explores the local specificities of the challenges linked to the climate crisis in each of these territories. His encounters with the Freskers he meets along the way are the fruit of inspiring exchanges, captured in these videos. 🇦🇺 Climate Fresk Australia led the biggest giant Fresk ever held in the country! 🏫 A few weeks ago, at the International Grammar School, 122 participants and 23 facilitators gathered for a huge workshop—the largest since Climate Fresk began operating in Australia. This event had a special flavor: students from the school trained to become facilitators and became their teachers' teachers for the workshop! 💚 This major event would not have been possible without the support of the volunteer facilitators who came to help the students on the day. Many thanks also to Mylène and Laure Legros, our brilliant co-CCs in Australia, who helped make this day a success. 🐝 Today is International Biodiversity Day! 🌳 The aim of this day: to shine a spotlight on the richness of our planet's flora and fauna and make us all aware of the threats currently facing them. 🧩 While our Fresk serves the purpose of talking to you about climate, and the causes and consequences of its change, the purpose of our association is indeed the protection of living things. We believe that approaching the subject from a climate angle is a fundamental way of accelerating our understanding of the issues. It also enables us to bring about the changes needed to preserve the living world. 🐋 Projects carried out by other Fresks are complementary to this approach. This is of course the case with Fresque de la Biodiversité, whose workshop enables us to learn more about the systemic aspect of biodiversity erosion and to understand the issues and pressures weighing on it. ✨ Why not take advantage of this day to register for one of these workshops?
