A moving, proud and joyful encounter on the Foxrock campus of the Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett to unveil a plaque in their gymnasium, renamed in honour of the Irish Olympic swimmer and bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Mona McSharry. Passing through Dublin for Christmas before returning to the United States where she studies and trains, Mona McSharry answered questions from our young students and encouraged each and every one to believe in their dreams! She also passed around her bronze medal brought back from Paris, a real Christmas gift for the children of LFI! In attendance were Céline Place (Ambassador of France in Ireland) Gavin Noble (chef de mission Paris 2024, Olympic Federation of Ireland ), Kevin Keane (Marketing and Commercial Manager, Olympic Federation of Ireland), Wiliam Irwin (Swim Ireland), Anne-Laure Neselrade (Primary School Principal, LFI), Esther Link (LFI Principal) Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024 Sport Ireland Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland Ministère des Affaires étrangères français Embassy of Ireland France - Ambassade d'Irlande en France Samuel Ducroquet Thomas Byrne St. Kilian's German School Dublin - Eurocampus

Did you know a team of 60 technicians from French power provider Enedis is in Ireland to help their colleagues in ESB Networks in the repair of power outages following Storm Darragh? The support crews arrived at Rosslare Europort in Co. Wexford yesterday! #ClosestEUneighbour 🇫🇷🤝🇮🇪 Find out about this ongoing Franco-Irish cooperation below 👇
A friend in need is a friend indeed! Last year, France was fortunate to count on the help of the great people at ESB Networks to help restore power in areas affected by storm Ciaran. As Ireland woke up last Saturday with more than 380.000 homes with no power, a call for support was made to Enedis – to which 60 technicians answered right away, immediately driving from all parts of France (as far away as Les Vosges!) to board a Brittany Ferries in Cherbourg. Together with Minister James Browne TD ESB Networks MD Nicholas Tarrant and Rosslare Europort Director Glenn Carr I was delighted to welcome them yesterday evening upon arrival in Ireland. They immediately hit the road to Portlaoise for a security and technical briefing, before heading to Athlone from where they’ll be operating in the next days. I told them they were making all of us French proud, and will surely be most welcomed by our closest EU neighbors! Notre-Dame de Paris: a restored masterpiece Today, December 8, Notre-Dame reopens its doors after 5 years of restoration. A monumental project, achieved thanks to 2,000 craftsmen and cutting-edge innovations. The project is a unique example of international collaboration and craftsmanship. Thank you to the 340,000 donors from 150 countries who made it possible. Their mobilization is a symbol of the universal attachment to our common heritage. In Ireland, The French Embassy was thrilled to partner with Trinity College Dublin for two vibrant events celebrating the long-awaited reopening of this iconic masterpiece. 🎨 A literary conference led by Sarah Alyn Stacey with Ségolène Le Men from Université Paris Nanterre, brought Notre-Dame to life through poetry, literature, painting, and art history—highlighting its profound influence on the arts and imagination. 📚 An inspiring book launch for James Harpur’s “The Gospel of Gargoyle” and performance by the stage and screen society, an enchanting tale that captures the magic and mystery of Notre-Dame like never before. These events were a true celebration of joy, resilience, and the enduring spirit of this global treasure. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honouring the re-opening of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame's! 📷 © Etablissement public Rebâtir Notre-Dame de Paris © Sarah Steck/ Présidence de la République © Laurent Blevennec / Présidence de la République
