Now you can steam and air fry your food at the same time! Thanks to advanced technology, we’ve launched an air fryer that also steams - helping consumers to cook more sustainably and healthily in the home, whilst also saving them time.      How did this innovation come to life? Ethel Kreutz, our Global Category Manager from Product Line Wellbeing and Small and Domestic Appliances, tells the story:     “We looked at key consumer insights, such as enabling even healthier eating possibilities and exploring new cooking techniques. In addition, we were inspired by the success of our premium steam oven.  Following this legacy, we created a product that offers both air frying — which cooks food with less fat and calories — and steaming — which helps lock in moisture and retain nutrients.”      The Electrolux 800/AEG 8000/Ultimate Taste 700 Steam Air Fryer has four features: ▪ Air frying  ▪ Steaming  ▪ Air frying and steaming (combi)- the best of both worlds!   ▪ Dehydrating     It is currently available in European markets, as well as Taiwan, Thailand, Korea and China. It will be available in Malaysia, Singapore, and Middle East and Northern and Central Africa later this year. The product will be rolled out in more markets next year.        #innovation #airfryer #healthyeating #sustainability

Low wash temperatures and short cycles can help extend clothing life and are also in demand from consumers looking for greater flexibility when washing multiple loads each week. Our Electrolux brand recently launched its smartest laundry range in Europe with technologies that can help consumers save water, energy, and time including:    The UltraQuick 59/49/39min program delivers complete removal of 50 common household stains, including ketchup, Bolognese sauce and gravy, all at 30°C. It achieves this by pre-mixing and evenly distributing detergent and softeners. Available in Europe on Electrolux Series 800 and Series 900 washers and Series 800 washer dryers, UltraQuick is a powerful program, optimized for daily mixed loads of cottons and synthetics, that can also save up to 30% of energy.    Meanwhile, the new SmartSelect function effortlessly guides consumers to save time, energy and water. As the consumer selects the cycle, SmartSelect provides input based on user needs and adjusts the cycle to save up to 80% of energy, 50% of time and 20% of water.   Learn more about the new laundry range here: https://lnkd.in/deGg4-vd   #innovation #laundry #technology #sustainability

What’s your autopilot wash temperature? Nearly three quarters of Europeans (74%) stick to a default wash temperature on their washing machines, with nearly a third (30%) not knowing they can change it, according to our latest The Truth About Laundry report, which this year focuses on extending clothing life.   Generally, the cooler and shorter the washing cycle, the longer an item of clothing will last. Yet according to our data, the most common default wash temperature used is 40°C with cycle durations often between 90 and 120 minutes. The good news is that, as consumers look to build more sustainable habits, they CAN change the default setting. Across the three newest ranges from our brands Electrolux and AEG, over 70% of programs default to 30°C or 20°C.    Read our latest Truth About Laundry Report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dAc9Mg45   #laundry #sustainability #sustainablehabits #innovation

Here’s one way AI is helping us improve the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues at our factories and warehouses worldwide. Thanks to a successful open innovation collaboration with CerebrumEdge we’ve been able to test and launch a new AI and data analytics tools, ErgoEdge, which makes it easier than ever to spot and reduce ergonomic risks.     The tool enables us to conduct real-time ergonomic risk assessments using smartphone-recorded videos. This means we can quickly spot potential risks, such as poor posture or repetitive stress. This proactive approach helps us reduce the number of musculoskeletal disorders caused by bad posture or repetitive stress creating a safer and healthier environment.      So far, the ErgoEdge solution has been implemented in factories and warehouses in Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Romania and the US and will be rolled out globally.       #openinnovation #AI #ergonomics #safety

Today is United Nations (UN) Day which this year focuses on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 “Partnerships for the Goals.” Electrolux Group engages in numerous partnerships that work toward the SDGs.    One of those partnerships is with the UN-led Cool Coalition to replace high-impact greenhouse gases in our appliances. We submitted a phase-out plan to the Cool Coalition in 2019 to replace such gases in all our appliances with gases that have low global warming impact. By the end of 2023, 97% of Electrolux Group products with refrigerants had switched to alternatives with lower global warming potential and the remaining 3% will be phased out by 2026.   “We’ve worked hard to phase out high-impact greenhouse gases from 97% of our products containing refrigerants,” says Elena Breda, our Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer. “Despite challenges remaining in some regions and with some product categories, we have been a pioneer for replacing high-impact greenhouse gases and almost all our products now use low-impact refrigerants.” For more detail on our partnership with the Cool Coalition, read here: https://lnkd.in/dZSieSW9   #UNDay #coolcoalition #SDGs #sustainability

Today we celebrate 100 years since our launch in Australia and New Zealand! In 1924 our founder Axel Wenner-Gren set his sights on the distant but affluential markets of Australia and New Zealand for international expansion, launching the Electrolux brand in these countries, alongside North America and Italy in the same year.   Soon, local sales offices were established and vacuum cleaner sales were boosted by successful door-to-door visits and clever marketing campaigns. Wenner-Gren's great strength was his imaginative and unconventional approach to sales and marketing. Pictured are Electrolux motorcycles and cars lined up on the waterfront in Melbourne, Australia, probably at the end of the 1920s. The vehicles were used by salespeople in many countries and garnered a lot of attention.   Fast-forward to 2000: Electrolux in Australia and New Zealand turned into a true success story as it went from being a pure vacuum cleaner brand to a premium home appliance brand, thanks to the acquisition of Email which had dominated the major appliance market in the region. Today, Electrolux Group is market leader especially in cooking and we are the only home appliance company that still manufactures in Australia, with our very first factory launched in Melbourne back in 1934.   #100 #history #australia #shapelivingforthebetter

Our incoming CEO Yannick Fierling  (pictured 2nd from left) joined our current CEO Jonas Samuelson and the Electrolux Group Board of Directors to meet the team in North America last week. Welcomed by head of the Business Area for North America Ricardo Cons, they visited the Charlotte headquarters, as well as the Anderson, South Carolina refrigeration factory and Springfield, Tennessee cooking factory to discuss future opportunities for the business and learn more about the innovative products we make in the factories. There was, of course, also time for a town hall and Swedish fika with the local teams. Pictured L-R: Jonas Samuelson, Yannick Fierling, Ricardo Cons and Samantha Hamlin
