Very proud to announce that ERS - Ecosystem Restoration Standard has been selected as one of the standards eligible for the Symbiosis Coalition request for funding. As a reminder, the Symbiosis Coalition helps projects to access lower-cost financing by signing offtake agreements with its members - Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce. If you’re interested, check out the RFP resources and submit your application here 👉 https://lnkd.in/duXwJ-ZC Julia (Osterman) Strong Paulo Quadri , PhD. 🌱 The first Symbiosis RFP is now live! 🌳 Our first RFP focuses on reforestation and agroforestry projects and is a pivotal milestone to translate our commitment to contract for up to 20 million tonnes of high-quality nature-based carbon removal credits into action. 📈 This RFP reflects months of work and input from developers, experts, scientists, buyers, NGOs, investors, standard bodies, and other stakeholders from across the ecosystem. We designed the process to lower barriers to entry for developers by streamlining access to multiple buyers at once while implementing a best-in-class diligence approach to rigorously evaluate project alignment with our Quality Criteria (link in comments). Through this process, we aim to: ✅ Illustrate what high-quality nature-based carbon removal projects look like and clarify buyer expectations ✅ Help projects to access lower-cost financing by signing bankable offtake agreements with our members - Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce ✅ Share guidance and case studies over time to encourage more capital off the sidelines, more projects into development, and more buyers to the table 💡 To learn more about our RFP approach check out our blog post (link in comments). 📝 Project developers: To apply, submit your applications by the January 31, 2025 priority deadline to guarantee an initial review. Learn more and submit your proposal via our website (link in comments). 📅 For an overview of the RFP process and timeline, please join us for our second project developer webinar on 12/17 at 8am PT / 11am ET. RSVP link in comments. #CarbonRemoval #NatureBasedSolutions #ClimateAction #NatureRestoration #CarbonCredits #CarbonMarkets #SymbiosisRFP

We are proud to announce our contribution to the whitepaper From Co-Benefits to Core-Benefits: How to Ensure Carbon Finance is Fairly and Transparently Delivered, written by Terraspect. At ERS - Ecosystem Restoration Standard, Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Local Communities (LCs) have always been at the heart of our work. Livelihood is one of the 3 key pillars of our Standard, and it's a critical aspect we assess when certifying ecosystem restoration projects on the carbon markets. We ensure that projects not only positively impact biodiversity and carbon sequestration but also generate social additionality by involving and empowering local communities. As the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) continues to grow, it’s vital for all market participants to act with integrity and transparency—particularly in ensuring equitable inclusion of IPs and LCs. This new comprehensive toolkit offers clear guidance for buyers, project developers, and community organisations on how to design and implement community compensation plans that are equitable, transparent, and accountable. Rebuilding trust in the VCM starts here. Explore the first toolkit of its kind and learn how carbon finance can truly deliver benefits to the communities that matter most. 👉 Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/eh_fWNGU #climate #biodiversity #livelihoods #carbonmarkets #generationrestoration #ERS #voluntarycarbonmarket #carbonfinance #indigenouspeople #impact

🌱 ERS - Ecosystem Restoration Standard applies to ICVCM’s CCPs 🌱 We firmly believe that the The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM)'s CCPs are a critical driver in rebuilding trust in the carbon markets. That’s why, in the last 8 months, ERS has meticulously aligned both its programme-level documents and methodology-level documentation to meet the ICVCM’s rigorous assessment criteria. We are proud to announce that ERS has applied for accreditation to ICVCM’s Core Carbon Principles (CCPs). The two-tick process begins with a thorough review of the programme’s eligibility to the CCPs. The response from the accreditation body is expected in Q4-2024. 🔗 To learn more about our standard, visit our website: ers.org #climate #biodiversity #livelihoods #carbonmarkets #generationrestoration #ERS
