🌿 Did you know that coastal and marine ecosystems play a key role in fighting climate change? Blue carbon refers to the carbon captured and stored by these ecosystems, like seagrasses, salt marshes, and mangroves. These areas, where land meets sea, act as natural carbon sinks. 🌍 Why does it matter? Beyond carbon capture, these ecosystems protect coastlines, preserve biodiversity, and support millions of livelihoods worldwide. 📘 Discover our new guide on Blue Carbon to learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eTAKt-yP #BlueCarbon #CarbonCapture #VCM #ClimateChange #ClimateSeed

Did you miss the key takeaways from COP29? 💡 Decisions were made on the New Collective Quantified Goal for Climate Finance, Loss and Damage Fund, Article 6, and New Nationally Determined Contributions. COP29 highlighted important progress, but it also underscored the need for significant changes as we set our sights on COP30 in Belém, Brazil. Building on this progress is crucial to achieving our global climate targets. Read more about COP29 in our latest article: https://lnkd.in/eB-gFCcP

Did you know that nearly 2.3 billion people around the globe do not have access to clean cooking? 💡 By improving efficiency or transitioning to cleaner fuels, these projects not only reduce carbon emissions but also boost community health and air quality. Examples include fixed stoves in Peru, designed to honor traditional cooking practices, and bioethanol initiatives in Kenya, which replace deforestation-driven charcoal with sustainable alternatives. For more information, please read our article: https://lnkd.in/ebWp5xsk Also, please register for our webinar for more information on cookstoves! It will be taking place on Wednesday, December 11th at 2pm CET: https://lnkd.in/eHNUsMsG

How can biogas tackle emissions and empower communities? 🌍✨ Biogas technology, especially at the household and community level, is increasingly recognized for its potential to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while delivering significant social and economic benefits. Take the Biogas Development Programme in Sichuan, China: nearly 400,000 households use advanced biogas digesters and smoke-free biogas stoves. Each participating smallholder farmer family saves about 2tCO₂e of methane and carbon dioxide emissions annually.
