    In this year’s final episode of the #BICCreators series, we meet Tommy Mitchell, a visual artist from #Baltimore, Maryland. Tommy’s work centers around portraying people--capturing their stories through expressions, clothing style, and the essence of a specific time frame. For him, art is a continuous quest to explore what's possible with his craft. His connection to BIC pens is driven by an unconventional inspiration: tattoo artists. Observing the detail they bring to their masterpieces on skin, Tommy challenged himself to achieve the same level of precision on paper. His artistic process combines hatching, scribbling, and layering techniques to create a smooth, statuesque look in his work. His meticulous approach ensures every line and layer blends seamlessly, giving his pieces a distinct, polished finish. It’s not just about technique—it’s about mastering his craft and delivering artwork that resonates. What sets Tommy’s story apart is his non-traditional path--relying on hard work, determination, and self-teaching without formal art school or early gallery representation. “I joke that I got my MFA from YouTube, and I'm thankful that we're in an era where information is accessible, however that may come.” This episode celebrates not just Tommy’s artistry but also his belief in the accessibility of creativity—values that align deeply with BIC’s mission to democratize expression. Through his work, Tommy reminds us that art is about connecting with people, telling stories, and finding joy along the way!

    The #BICCorporateFoundation is excited to announce the eight winners of the 2024 Call for Projects. 🎉 Now in its seventh year, this initiative gives BIC team members the chance to nominate local charity programs that focus on projects promoting #education and the development of creative skills.     🌱✏️ Through our Writing the Future, Together commitment, #TeamBIC is working to improve access to education and create positive change in communities worldwide. Supporting this initiative is our Group Supply Chain (GSC) Ambassadors, a group of team members from across our #manufacturing sites around the world, who are leading local efforts to drive impact.     🌎 #TeamBIC recently closed out our fifth Global Education Week in support of our mission to promote access to #education to more children around the world. This year over 3.8 million products were donated, positively impacting over 1.4 million children! 🖊️ “I am proud to see this annual event not only inspire our team members but also motivate others to give back in meaningful ways,” shares Gonzalve Bich, CEO and Chairman of the BIC Corporate Foundation. Throughout the week, members of our #OneBIC team participated in #GlobalEducationWeek initiatives around the world. From volunteering in classrooms to refurbishing local schools, our global community came together in support of this core belief, making a positive impact in the communities in which we operate.🤝 As members of Team BIC participated in local events, we also partnered with Somos el Cambio, a non-profit organization in Mexico, to distribute BIC products to over 400 public schools throughout the region.
