O treinamento docente abordando novas tecnologias e demonstrando ao professor que esses são instrumentos que facilitam o trabalho é a melhor forma de fazer com que o professor também experimente as tecnologias em sala de aula e dessa forma engaje seus estudantes.

Já não há mais espaço para resistência às novas tecnologias, especialmente no ambiente de ensino. As instituições, de um lado, devem investir continuamente na capacitação do corpo docente, promovendo letramento e proficiência digital, além de estimular uma nova postura dos professores como mentores da jornada profissional dos alunos. Também é fundamental que as universidades ofereçam plataformas digitais que permitam a implementação de metodologias de ensino inovadoras e modelos híbridos, com suporte e treinamento adequados ao corpo docente. Por outro lado, essa busca pela atualização deve ser abraçada como uma responsabilidade individual pelos próprios docentes.

Though I am not resistant to using Technology but since I grew up with Chalk and board, as a teacher I always fall back to that. Technology takes time and infrastructure. Though India is progressive in terms of technology, the classroom infrastructure needs to catch up with the technology. Also, our assessments—at least the milestone ones—are still in written format.

It's a misconception that faculty are resistant to new technology. More often, staff are eager to engage but struggle to find the time due to demanding workloads. Therefore, the first step in supporting them should be to allocate time within their schedules to explore and understand new technology, providing use cases that they can easily implement to enhance student learning, and creating a community of practice.

To help teachers engage students, I would share successful examples using tools like interactive quizzes or collaborative platforms. These technologies make lessons more dynamic and save teachers time. Current generations have different expectations and focuses: they expect active and interactive learning, aligned with the digital environment they have grown up in. Showing how these tools meet those needs while also making teachers' work easier could be key to overcoming resistance to technology.

Technology is a tool to enhance our efficiency and effectiveness. A proper awareness creation and knowledge on how to embrace and use the new technology is key to its adoption. Note that change always creates some discomfort and hence must be handled with care and tact. Where possible, the change should be done or introduced in stages/phases because not all people will accept change at the same time and rate. Mindset change starts with a small group of the enthusiasts about the technology, then the rest will join after seeing the benefits from their colleagues using the technology. However, there will always be laggards- those who will wait for everyone to adopt the technology before they accepted it. Don't be discouraged.

I have found that creating a professional learning community (PLC) and financially incentivizing the PLC helps attract faculty. Once the PLC has formed faculty learners value being in a space where they can experience learning together in a safe environment. Dealing with new technology can be intimidating and make people feel vulnerable. Modeling the use of technology and guiding exploration with new technology with peers is helpful. Facilitators of the PLC need to acknowledge difficulties and barriers and help find amicable solutions.
