We have an opportunity for a Manager Renewables Assets position to join our growing team.
The leader in this role will be responsible for supporting, planning, directing, and implementing renewable generation activities for our internal employees as well as contractors working on site.
These activities need to be conducted in a safe and environmentally conscious manner, supporting regional and fleet business objectives.
This work focuses on Wind, but solar, battery and other renewable generation assets could come into play as well.
This position will be based out of Storm Lake or Spencer, IA.
This is a hybrid position with the majority of the work being between these locations.
However, some travel to our renewable power generation facilities throughout Iowa can and will occur from time to time.
What you will do Planning and implementing the activities for the operation and maintenance of assigned renewable installations and associated equipment.
Sets strategic goals for the renewable assets and takes appropriate action to ensure resources and efforts remain focused on renewable financial, safety, environmental and operating goals.
Ensures that employees understand business unit and renewable asset financial, operating, and compliance goals and focus their efforts on achieving such goals.
Takes appropriate actions to ensure that resources and efforts remain focused on the achievement of the renewable financial, safety, operating and compliance goals.
Ensures routine regulatory reporting activities for renewable assets (i.
e.
, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Transportation, the Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Electric Reliability Corporation, etc.
) are completed in a timely manner.
Ensures strict adherence to the Federal Electric Reliability Corporation (FERC) engineering dam safety standards and criteria, timely communicate to the FERC any dam safety conditions under section 12.
10 of the FERC regulations as safety related incidents, and timely complete any work items identified during the FERC annual dam safety inspections.
Participates in the renewable asset budget planning, forecasting and reconcilement processes.
Leads the establishment, acceptance and implementation of operating policies, process performance, and procedures and activities that maximize financial and operating results.
Recommends improvements and changes to operating procedures, policies, and processes.
Promotes good employee and community relations through personal contacts and attention with landowners and surrounding communities.
Coordinates the maintenance activities of all departments.
Participates in outage planning.
Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, models Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.
Responsible for facilitating work with procurement staff to provide appropriate contracts, contractors, and material to support renewable operations as needed.
Works directly with the renewable asset strategy team to ensure alignment of safety and environmental protocols with other company renewable assets.
Such coordination will ensure compliance with all training requirements, reporting, tracking and industry standards.
Responsible for managing employees and contractors engaged in site operational activities.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Science, Business or related area is preferred.
Required Experience 5 years of O&M and Asset Management or related technical or professional experience.
3 years supervisory experience or equivalent.
Preferred Experience 2-4 years experience in generation operations, strategy, product design, and mechanical or electrical engineering.
Demonstrated experience working with labor union management Experience with emergency management and agency coordination.
Experience in maintaining agreements for utility and grid interconnection processes.
Understanding of the operations of renewable energy and emerging market trends.
Other Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Proven ability to identify, analyze, and objectively problem solve and with prompt and meticulous follow through.
Strong understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting and contract negotiations.
Knowledge of processes for guidance and support to brands and or other stakeholders on meeting criteria and or sustainability goals.
Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
