Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and operate electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Must comply with all safety rules including LOTO (lockout/tagout, etc.
) and GMP while performing all job duties.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or knowledge equivalent too.
Must have 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility or equivalent.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
Demonstrates required skills; adapts to new technologies; troubleshoots technological problems; uses technology to increase productivity; keeps technical skills up to date.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and customers.
Ability to plan work on a daily schedule, work independently and be a highly motivated individual.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and apply those concepts to practical situations.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
) Word Processing software.
