*POSITION SUMMARY*
This position is accountable for supporting the Fisher Hydraulics’ Quality Management System.
The quality assurance technician is directed and managed by the quality assurance manager.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
* Assist in the development of quality assurance plans or process control procedures that will ensure production of finished products, which meet quality specifications and standards.
* Supports the overall quality specification, standards, inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, for processes and for finished goods.
* Assists QA Manager in conducting and/or reviewing all complaints received from customers to determine where quality assurance emphasis should be placed at the plant to eliminate problems.
* Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
* Supports company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
* Assists quality manager in reviewing technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
* Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
* Provides technical assistance to the purchasing department in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.
* Contacts and/or visits customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems.
Oversee subcontractor’s quality assurance program.
Assist vendors in establishing inspection standard to meet the company’s quality requirements.
* Assists the quality manager in directing the continuing review of the quality assurance program and the formulation of new or revised procedures to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
* Assists in coordinating gauging procedures between Fisher Hydraulics and customers.
* Performs all work in a safety conscious manner.
Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
* Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.
* Supports the Quality Management System of Fisher Hydraulics.

Must have solid problem solving skills, and a working knowledge of the quality problem solving tools.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, blueprints, correspondence and memos in English.
Ability to write English correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, in small group situations and to management and company associates.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Requires advance accounting skills which require analytical math, statistical math, math related to blue print reading / and geometrical tolerance calculations.
*REASONING ABILITY* Requires the use of disciplined problem solving methods.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
