🧠💪 Mental health is just as crucial as physical health; they’re more interconnected than you might think! This year, on World Mental Health Day, celebrated on 10 October, we focused on the theme: "It's Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace." Remember, mental health struggles are more common than you think—1 in 4 people will face a mental health challenge in their lifetime, according to the World Health Organization. It's time to break the stigma and foster a supportive environment. Let's spread awareness and prioritise mental well-being! 🌟 #MentalHealthMatters #WorldMentalHealthDay #SupportEachOther #AspenMedical #LautokaHospital #BaHospital #FijiNews

Christmas has come early for the children at Lautoka Hospital Thanks to the efforts of Aspen Medical, FIJI Water Foundation, FIJI Water, and Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL), the Children's Ward received a makeover. The ward's waiting area and restroom facilities were refreshed, and a new washing machine, dryer, swing set, and trikes were donated. The additional work included cleaning, painting, tiling, renovations, landscaping, and utility installations. 120 members from the Fiji Water Foundation sang Christmas carols for the children and parents at the ward. Aspen Medical’s CEO in Fiji, Gavin Whiteside, expressed gratitude for the community's support and shared that the work done by the foundation will benefit many families for years to come. #AspenMedical #AspenMedicalFiji #ChristmasTime #FijiNews #WonderfulNeighbour #LautokaHospital

In a collaborative effort to save young lives, our three doctors from Paediatrics Department joined forces with the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital (SSSSCH) in Suva. Drs. James Auto, George Sikivou, and Ashnit Kumar provided vital clinical support, resulting in successful heart surgeries for 19 children during the November Cardiac Mission, the 18th Mission of the SSSSCH. We are happy to have played a role in improving the lives of these young patients and their families and will continue to support child health nationwide. #SavingLives #FijiNews #AspenMedical

What is Antimicrobial Resistance? Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when germs, such as bacteria and fungi, develop the ability to defeat drugs designed to kill them. As a result, the medicines become ineffective, and infections persist in the body, increasing the risk of spreading them to others. World AMR Awareness Week is a global campaign to raise awareness and promote best practices among healthcare workers to reduce the emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. Throughout this week, the teams at the Lautoka and Ba hospitals ran special campaigns to raise awareness of Antimicrobial Resistance and the proper use of antibiotics. This year's theme, “Educate. Advocate. Act Now.”, calls for action across human, animal, plant, and environmental health to prevent drug-resistant infections. Here’s how you can help: 1. Educate yourself and others. 2. Advocate for responsible use of antibiotics. 3. Act now to protect life-saving medicines. #StopAMR #FijiNews #LautokaHospital #BaHospital
