“Severe occupational burnout has increased.” This was the headline of a recent press release by Työterveyslaitos - Finnish Institute of Occupational Health According to their research: ➖ one in four employees has an increased risk of burnout. ➖ the likelihood of burnout has increased, especially among managers. The number has tripled compared to the pre-pandemic period. ➖ severe burnout is twice as likely among young people under the age 36 compared to 2019. ➖ cognitive disorders and cynicism at work have increased. The study, with over 1200 respondents, revealed the main reason behind this increased burnout risk; uncertainty about one’s own job (job insecurity) combined with a growing sense of hopelessness for the future😢 While this data is specific to Finland, I believe it reflects a similar trend across Europe. ❓WHAT CAN WE DO TO TURN THIS TREND AROUND❓ The statistics are worrying, but also awaken the fighter in me. There must be a way for us to reduce job insecurity and create more hope for the future! 👉 I’d love to hear from you: What strategies or approaches have you found helpful – as a leader, or just for yourself – in: 1️⃣ reducing job insecurity, AND/OR 2️⃣ increasing hope for the future? What a great evening! I had the honor to speak at EEX Oy Collaborator's Club event and share my learnings about ecosystems and intrapreneurship while working at Nokia, KONE, ABLOY and Betolar I reflected on my experiences working at these four companies building a new ecosystem business. Some people might say that the platform and ecosystem business hype has passed, but I argue that value creation has permanently changed. Hypes come and go, but if your company has not considered how to collaborate in value creation, you are missing out. Being an intrapreneur and building new kinds of business in a company with strong existing business can be a daunting task. Watching the Agentforce 2.0 launch event the other day got me thinking more about the Agentic AI and what it means to companies. Since then, we have closely collaborated with the 8 counties in Finland to support health and social care professionals in their daily work to provide equal services for the residents in the counties. Thanks to the powerful union: the wellbeing services counties of South Karelia, South Ostrobothnia, Kanta-Häme, Central Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Kymenlaakso, Päijät-Häme and Satakunta in Finland.
