One of our first GPT powered implementation in Drupal is now live for internal use 😍 ! In essence, it allows users to ask questions where GPT answers solely based on content on the aalto.fi website. A massive thank you to our Aalto University IT team and our partners at Siili Solutions and Cloudriven Oy, it's been a blast to work on this. This is a great use case as it helps increase accessibility in terms of faster access to content and not needing to search and go through search results to find the answer to your question ⌛ which matches up with our framework on responsible use of AI. It's not perfect, and we have a ton of improvements still to make - the main challenge is weighting content and improving content. As GPT has access to all content, we sometimes see cases where an old piece of news "pollutes" answers due to that information no longer being relevant. We have a lot of work ahead of us 🏋‍♂️ . Can't wait to build a version that helps students with the application process! Here is a demo of it in practice, helping to answer the question "How can I get a new computer?". Had a great AI breakfast with the Finnish AI in film, video, and VFX community! A human-made summarization of our discussion: AI in Video Production: AI is not yet a silver bullet in GenAI video production. A lot of work and study hours are needed to build a general vision and understand what different tools can do and their maturity level. A major bottleneck is still the lack of controllability in the output, requiring time, money, and extensive post-production to achieve a polished-looking result. Tools: Open-source tools like Automatic1111 and ComfyUI offer better controllability than commercial products, though they are not very user-friendly. Video-to-Video generation: Using a source video and then adding styles and changes produces the best results so far (compared to image or text-to-video production). Speech-to-Speech generation: To control emotion in voice output, record the emotion with a real human and use AI to modify the voice, e.g., making it sound like a high-pitched cartoon character. Lipsync: We are still waiting for AI to produce more expressive and natural-looking lipsync that matches human facial expressions, not just a static doll face like they are today. 3D GenAI: This area is still evolving. It works for low-resolution static usage but remains a work in progress for animation and re-lighting. Did you know that only in Finland there’s over 1,2 million people who would require accessible services? Accessibility directive and requirements are instructing authorities to make the digital services accessible for everyone. ❗ Everyone needs to be able to function fully in a digital society ❗ In addition, although in the private sector, there’s no legal requirements to comply with these at this moment, it will come and it’s better to be early than late to understand these requirements.   During the last two days I had a privilege to participate in the accessibility training in which we went through the basics of the topic: ✅ a concrete update on the legal and recommended requirements of the accessibility ✅ the legal  deeper understanding on how to make assessment for the accessibility ✅ tools and processes there are to help you with the accessibility assessment ✅ and the last but not the least, actually the most important, learning to take the requirements of accessible digital services more in consideration when planning and designing them (even in the private sector), whether it is the easy usability, understandability of the content or technical accessibility considerations to challenge our developers. Thank you Annika Valtari. It was great to be trained by a person who has such a passion and expertise for the topic and real case examples. You made the topic super understandable and me really wanting to take the extra effort to address these requirements on our digital services.  Thank you to the other participants at the training  and active, open discussions we had. It was such an inspiration to hear your thoughts and experiences. Great to have a benchmark too! Thanks Professio for organising! WHAT TO AVOID! ⛔ ⛔ ⛔ I recently posted an experience and thoughts about a good client experience. Well, I can now give you the bad experience. My work is to find new clients for skriptó. I try to be as comprehensive, reactive and precise as possible when it comes to questions/answers. I am also, frequently, contacted to buy services/products. Recently, someone reached out to me to see if I was interested in a demo of their managing tool. I accepted, as we are, eventually, willing to change.🖥 I am redirected to another account manager to set up a date. 📅 First, between the mail to acknowledge my acceptance of the demo and the actual date, 8 business days went by. 😱 Time for the demo, I am explaining what we are looking, functions and price-wise. I watch the demo, explanations are good, I ask questions. I am interested. 💪 End of our hour-long demo. I confirm that I am interested and that I would like to receive a quotation. 💫 💲 12 business days! That was the time necessary to send me the quotation. Shocking! 😮 The price is at least 2x more expensive if I stick to the light version, and if I ask for the complete version (what we are using now), it is 2,8x more expensive. 📉 To me, this sales person did: - not understand my needs - not understand my budget - waste my time - not leave a good account management impression. I gave my feedback. Too expensive compared to the solution that we already have. The answer was even better: "Ok. Hopefully in the future we can work together". 🤐 🤯 What are your thoughts? #shocking #business #clientrelation
