🌟 My reflections on the SAP Finug Syysseminaari event 🌟 I had the pleasure of attending the Finug Syysseminaari event on the 29th of October, and it was an incredibly insightful experience. The event brought together industry leaders and professionals to discuss the latest trends and innovations in the SAP ecosystem. This time, AI was a quieter topic, with presentations focusing more on S/4HANA adoption and the cloud transition happening alongside S/4HANA transformation. This does not mean AI is dead; instead, the focus is now shifting from the technology itself to the benefits and visionary thinking it enables. The tools alone will not make us efficient, we must focus on paving the way towards the desired future and the tools will enable us to get there. Great speech by Maria Ritola on the topic! We learned from SAP that the acceleration of their cloud strategy has been remarkable, with growth rates almost up to 30%. The signs of what customers globally are doing are very clearly written! The use of the right tools, such as SNP's Selective Data Migration tools and smartShift's code modernization tools together with a partner like Tietoevry Tech Services to understand the customer strategy, play a crucial role in the success of these transitions. A recurring concern for customers was the complexity brought by the adoption of Clean Core, where moving customizations to the BTP platform introduces "wild west" behavior and a lack of control or understanding of how everything works. The worst-case scenario would be a paralysis of action due to fear of unknown impacts. Customers clearly need support from partners to manage this impeding complexity, help to create governance models, and ensure their implementation and enforcement. To me, BTP is an SAP platform that needs to be focused on as much as the individual capability towers it enables! This is not a new problem in the world of Cloud adoption, the same phenomenon was very prominent in non-SAP cloudification some 5-10 years ago and cloud governance models was the solution. Tietoevry Tech Services, as a leader in the Nordic SAP market, is well-equipped to help customers resolve any of these issues and concerns, and more. A big thank you to the organizers and all the speakers for making this event a success. It was great to connect with fellow professionals and exchange ideas on how we can leverage SAP technologies to drive growth and innovation. One key takeaway for me was the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in this rapidly evolving field. 🚀 Mio AB & RELEX Solutions: A collaboration for long-term stability 🚀 Mio's journey with RELEX Solutions began in 2014, and since then, their collaboration has evolved to address changing needs and complexities. The recent project focused on refining forecasting and replenishment functionality using RELEX’s "Assess, Change, Train" (ACT) approach, resulting in significant improvements: ✅ +7% increase in order proposals without manual intervention ✅ 50% reduction in business rules complexity ✅ Less time spent on root-cause analysis Mio's primary objective was to regain control over their environment, improve store replenishment, and future-proof their solution. The project showcased their long-standing cooperation with RELEX and their ability to tackle challenges. We just wrapped up a great roundtable discussion on building resilient supply chains with senior planning leaders from industry-leading companies. Soon we’ll have an in-depth recap with all the insights to share, but here are several of the best practices that I was able to capture live during the session. I believe #2 is particularly important as it will help companies answer the critical 3rd “W” of management—”What should be done about it?” 1. Identify and prioritize key customers and products (e.g., hero SKUs) to protect during disruptions. 2. Create and regularly update contingency plans, ensuring they are well-communicated and understood across the organization. Then, regularly simulate and practice various disruption scenarios. 3. Change planning decision-making cycles from monthly to also include a weekly cycle (S&OE), pending industry specifics and applicability. 4. Define and communicate specific roles and responsibilities to ensure effective crisis management. 5. Evaluate and plan for local financial resources and cash availability to maintain operations during disruptions. 6. Use specific, proven examples to justify investments in resilience initiatives, as bottom-up results are often more convincing than top-down visions. 7. Invest in predictive tools and methodologies to anticipate and mitigate potential disruptions proactively. 8. Prioritize data security and technological solutions, especially those critical for resilience measures. 9. Filter and contextualize information to prevent overload and ensure insights are relevant to different functions within the organization (e.g., finance vs. inventory planning). As Gartner has predicted, the circular economy will be the only economy by 2029.
