Holiday greetings from Terkko Health Hub team! ⭐🎄 It's just about time to wind down and wrap up loose ends for the year. Before we all shut down our laptops for a while, let's have a quick look back at Terkko's 2024! ⬇️ 💼 This year, 19 startups became our members: FuoHealth, FlockIn Oy, HIRMU - We build sales teams, DEEP Measures, HippocrAItes, Polku Therapeutics, MONCYTE Health, EMDT Europe Oy, Pediatrix Academia, Neuroscan AI Solutions, Mind's Eyetrack, AlionLife, HappyFam, Inner Key, Ankerias Oy, Sisufy.me, Moshe Consulting, HammTek and Delta Technics. ✨ One substantial initiative that we launched this fall: A free membership at our hub for all Research-to-Business projects from the University of Helsinki. These Business Finland funded innovations coming from many years of research will allow future entrepreneurs to embrace the startup community, get access to relevant events and opportunities in the field of life sciences, and peer-learn from fellow founders in the medical field. Thank you Helsinki Innovation Services Ltd for supporting this initiative! Already 9 R2B projects are Terkko members 🎉 ✨ Of course, this 2024 recap can't not mention our Slush side event, New Nordics HealthTech Matchmaking, organised with Health Incubator Helsinki. 250 attendees, 120+ startups from the New Nordics and 50+ investor organisations - not too bad for a first-time event!  ✨ This year, we also launched a new event concept - Investor Meetups - where we collaborate with investors to facilitate connections between them and Terkko members. Inventure, Nordic Science Investments, Innovestor and Athensmed were our 2024 guests for this event series! 📅 In addition, we hosted 8 Community Get-Togethers, 2 CxO Meetups, 7 Terkko Workshops, 4 Investor Meetups and 9 Office Hours exclusively for our members. 🗞️ Finally, to end the year on a high note, some recent good news from our community: 👏 VEIL.AI was selected to advance to Phase 2 of the prestigious DayOne Health 4.0 Accelerator.  👏 MedicubeX Ltd received an investment from InterSystems. The funding was the first of its kind for a Finnish and Nordic healthcare technology company. 👏 Mind's Eyetrack won the 2024 Female Founder Pitch Competition - 💚 Thank you everyone for following Terkko Health Hub through our growth! Terkko's monthly wrap-up: November edition ☔ For many, November is full of Slush-related activities. New Nordics HealthTech Matchmaking was a triumph! 🎉🎉🎉 On the evening of Slush Day 1, Terkko was buzzing and packed with attendees of the organised-for-the-first-time-ever Slush side event, New Nordics HealthTech Matchmaking. Had an absolute blast representing Zeta Diagnostics and meeting all the brilliant Nordic startups and life science investors last night at the Terkko Health Hub in Helsinki! After a whirlwind day of fast-paced (and let’s face it, sometimes borderline speed-dating) meetings at Slush, this was the perfect way to wind down. The vibe was informal, the discussions were enlightening, and let’s just say both the investors and our startup friends became increasingly philosophical as the evening progressed! Huge thanks to Terkko Health Hub, Health Incubator Helsinki, and our local friends at Health Tech Hub Copenhagen (Nicolas Bouchet and Anett Falussy) for arranging, hosting and promoting such a fantastic event. Fepod Oy Ltd was awarded a €1M Deep Tech Accelerator (DTA) loan, and Ankerias Oy - Tempo Funding 👏 MedicubeX Ltd wins the digitalisation act of the year hosted by Atea Finland Oy 👏 Polku Therapeutics and Smart PD Solutions Ltd / Kiwecare won the Health Design pitching competition backed by angel and VC syndicates 🗓️ COMMUNITY EVENTS (what a month!!): 🔸We hosted Pekka Simula from Innovestor for our monthly Investor Meetup series 🔸Community Break with Spanish Delegation - startups from Spain came to mingle with Terkko startups over coffee and tea 🔸Plenty of opportunities for Office Hours! The yearly Kandilääkäripäivät and bi-yearly Health and Life Sciences Career Fair (co-organised with Helsinki Think Company) brought over 150 attendees to our premises.
