With Christmas just around the corner, it's a good time to revisit the mood of the past summer for a while 😎 ECSA Summer School 2024 took place in August in the atmospheric town of Bertinoro in Italy. Anna-Riikka Vuorikari-Antikainen, Okmetic's Chief Commercial Officer, participated yesterday in the “European Projects for a Diverse Talent Pipeline” discussion held in connection with SEMICON EUROPA. The discussion was organized by the European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA), in which Okmetic is actively involved. The discussion focused on an important issue: the critical need to build a skilled and diverse workforce for semiconductors in Europe. Europe has a shortage of microelectronics professionals and there are currently more than 320 000 open vacancies in the sector. Finland’s semiconductor industry faces the same challenges of talent shortage as Europe. Our main goal in participating this ECSA project is to exchange best practices for developing semiconductor talent to match industry requirements. This week we celebrated the European Week for Safety and Health at Okmetic. 💙 During the week, we organized various info sessions and published intranet articles on topics such as proactive work, zero accidents, responsible work behavior, community spirit and self-care. We encouraged our employees to make more safety observations and received more than average: 64 observations of which 14 were positive. During the week we started mornings with refreshing stretchings. 🙆🏼🙆🏻
