TV Ryan Reynolds and 'John Krasinski' recreate classic The Office joke To help promote the real Krasinski's new film "IF," Randall Park reprised his role from the beloved sitcom in which he pretended to be Jim. By Dustin Nelson Updated on February 5, 2024 02:45PM EST Raise your hand if you had Ryan Reynolds and Randall Park recreating a hilarious bit from The Office on your Super Bowl bingo card. A new teaser set to air during Sunday's game for Office star John Krasinski's IF features a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the upcoming family film. Except, the behind-the-scenes aspect is as imaginary as the friends at the center of the movie itself, and is instead a nod to a classic bit from the beloved sitcom. The film stars Reynolds, so it makes sense to have him and writer/director Krasinski talk about the movie. Only the Krasinski seen in the teaser is actually Park who insists that he's Krasinski even though Reynolds doesn't buy it. "You're not John Krasinski," Reynolds insists. The bit is a throwback to a scene from season 9 of The Office when Jim (Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) have their friend Steve, played by Park, pretend to be Jim as a prank on Dwight (Rainn Wilson). Just as Jim and Pam took the prank to great lengths by making a family photo with Steve and Pam to fool Dwight, the teaser also comes bearing forged receipts. Not only is Park talking about the film with Reynolds, but itshows footage of Park directing the film and actors, laughing at outtakes, and explaining his long-gestating vision for the movie. 'John Krasinski' a.k.a. Randall Park and Ryan Reynolds. Randall Park and Ryan Reynolds While Park isn't in the real movie, IF does contain an The Office reunion. The film reunites Krasinski with his former TV boss, Steve Carell, who voices the main character's imaginary friend. The movie, which Reynolds calls a "live-action Pixar film," follows Bea (Cailey Fleming), a young girl who can see other people's imaginary friends. A mix of live-action and animation, it also stars Jon Stewart, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Louis Gossett Jr., Maya Rudolph, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, and Awkwafina, many of whom voice imaginary friends rather than appearing themselves.
