Rockin’ Out also preforms Community Walks, Research Talks, and Lab Tours!
Community Walks
Learn about the geology of the Puget Sound region by taking a stroll through some of Seattle’s parks.
Our community walks are regularly occurring strolls through local Seattle parks, and are led by graduate students from the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington.
Come join us, and learn about the local geology, including the history of faults, glaciers (see figure to the right), landslides, and rock layers (see figure below) that shaped and continue to shape the landscape of the Seattle area.
If you would like to get added to our Community Walks mailing list and receive emails when we have upcoming walks scheduled, please fill out this form.
