«Trisha has been once of the instrumental forces of nature behind the success of the London Java Community (LJC) aka London Java Users Group. She has been heavily involved in a wide variety of roles including: organising events, welcoming new members, giving technical talks, serving as one of the JCP (the global Java standards body) representatives and of course encouraging diversity within the community. The LJC has grown to ~2000 members from its inception 3 years ago with weekly events, regular blog posts and a podcast. It's due in no small part to Trisha's passion and ability to lead communities that this has been possible.»

Refactoring to Modern Java
Pearson
Many Java developers today are working on applications written before the release of Java SE 8. Even after Java 8 is adopted for new features, it’s likely that these legacy applications will not take full advantage of Java 8 without significant refactoring.

Disruptor: High performance alternative to bounded queues for exchanging data between concurrent threads
The Disruptor is the result of our efforts to build the world’s highest performance financial exchange at LMAX. Early designs focused on architectures derived from SEDA1 and Actors2 using pipelines for throughput. After profiling various implementations it became evident that the queuing of events between stages in the pipeline was dominating the costs. We found that queues also introduced latency and high levels of jitter. We expended significant effort on developing new queue implementations…
We expended significant effort on developing new queue implementations with better performance. However it became evident that queues as a fundamental data structure are limited due to the conflation of design concerns for the producers, consumers, and their data storage. The Disruptor is the result of our work to build a concurrent structure that cleanly separates these concerns.
