Lately, while deep into my prospecting, I've noticed an interesting trend: a major chunk of prospects now have .ai in their domain names and for some of them, it's not even relevant to their service or product. It's fascinating to see everyone leveraging AI but... A critical issue I've observed is that many startups, built around extending previous versions of ChatGPT, faced an existential crisis with the release of ChatGPT-4. OpenAI addressed key user demands, rendering these startups' solutions obsolete. Take, for example, a startup offering call summaries by recording, transcribing, and integrating with ChatGPT. With ChatGPT-4, you can now upload a voice file directly, making such services redundant. As a result, companies like this are losing users, jobs are at risk, and investors are losing money. In my opinion, the underlying technologies in AI hold significant long-term potential, much like the internet did post-dotcom crash and for that, it's crucial to reduce the noise surrounding this technology.
