Today I want to do a throwback to 2019... Anastasia Arwas and I were sitting by the rooftop pool of our Airbnb in Buenos Aires, but we didn’t feel like jumping into the water. We felt sick to our stomachs 🤢 Our deadline was approaching. We had given up our apartment and reserved 18 months for a trip around the world. In that time, we were supposed to find a way to make money online. We didn’t want to do our corporate job in a freelance setup ... we wanted to do “our own thing” — something where we would decide what it is and be passionate about. Here we were, sitting and checking the Google Analytics of our blog. 6000 unique website visitors. It had taken lots of time and effort to get here. We had thought that once we had grown a big enough audience, we would be able to get clients and earn a living online. But the reality of it was: $3 in ads income + $25 from an affiliate commission. 3 months left to prove we could “make it” and we made $28?! How would that ever replace a corporate salary? The thought of going back and writing this off as a "failed" experiment made our stomachs turn. We knew we had to go ALL IN on our business. We invested in multiple courses and mentors. Typing in our credit card details to purchase a $3k program was terrifying. But we were committed to learning about growing online. Although we learned a lot from our mentors, they didn’t solve our problem. ... UNTIL WE REALIZED THIS 👇🏼 ❌ The problem was NOT our audience size. The problem was that we were missing THE fundamental part of our business. This ONE thing was the reason why (even with 100k IG followers), there was no way we could ever make money if we didn’t tackle it first. ✨ Once we fixed it, we made our first $3k (without growing in traffic or followers)! AND after optimizing that one thing, we eventually celebrated our first $8k WEEK! — while traveling and working only 3 hrs/day. #continuouseducation We are part of a profession in which continuous development is necessary to better understand and help our clients. 🔊 This weekend, I have been part of an international bunch, discussing TA in the workplace. Great experience discussing psychological contract and how to renegotiate it at every step in our personal or professional relationships: ➡ Administrative contract: setting time, place, formal work conditions. ➡ Professional contract: setting expectations regarding what - who - how will do at the job ➡ Psychological contract: implicit expectations in the work relationship. A breach on any of them, will impact all of them. Therefore, the implicit must be made explicit on any level. Workshop until lunch, voting in the afternoon. 😎

Why Jaén? Why Andalucía? This summer, I embarked on a journey of deep introspection. After spending over two months in my birthplace of New York, I’ve returned to what I now call home in Jaén, Andalucía, Spain. Having been asked this question countless times, I believe I finally have a clear answer. While the lifestyle, festivals, and culture are undeniably appealing, my reasons for staying are rooted in something deeper: joy, potential, and a sense of community. My work in Spain, spanning both public and private sectors, has involved running my own businesses and helping others grow theirs. I’ve witnessed the incredible resilience, passion, and ambition that define the Andalusian spirit, and these qualities drive innovation and growth in the region. My goal is to contribute to the growth of this ecosystem because I believe in its immense potential and the strength of its people.
