EASA Regs question for the HiveMind, if I may? This is in regard to EASA Part-26/CS-26 compliance times. I'm used to Fixed Wing aspects in Subpart B, which largely are hard-coded into the Reg/CS itself, (eg. CS 26.303 LoV requirement compliance times are listed in Part 26.303). For Rotary Wing aspects (Subpart C), however, I can't seem to find any compliance time requirements. Is this something that is defined by the Competent Authority on an TC by TC basis, or something else?

Very interesting to see that EASA may be addressing the LOC-I/UPRT challenge in General Aviation. Let's hope that the CAA follow suit. EASA Pro - search Upset Prevention Recovery Training (Link won't post) UPRT, as introduced into Part-FCL with amending Regulation (EU) 2018/1974, is not applicable to LAPL or PPL training. However, to address the fact that loss of control in-flight is still a major issue in general aviation, the requirements and associated AMC applicable to training flights for revalidation of SEP and TMG class ratings/privileges are planned to be revised to outline the necessity for these training flights to cover emergency procedures (such as different stall scenarios). #flightsafety #uprt #flightsafetyschool #upsetpreventionrecoverytraining

Our industry is definitely an overreacting field.. During the time of the pandemic airlines offered early retirements and many people stoped their dreams to become a pilot based on the negativity of the predictions for the after pandemic, to later open thousands of jobs based on the preliminary numbers, predictions of aircraft deliveries; passenger transit at major destinations, airlines were ordering hundreds of planes to full fill the “expected demand” and now when the world is again “settle”, leisure travel is less; now we witness job cuts, unpaid time off and we again the need to increase qualifications for pilots and minimums for upgrade when these are matter of safety not matter of finances. Sadly, we don’t learn lessons and aviation keeps making the same mistakes over and over. When there is a slow down of any kind, we start thinking in measures like for instance increasing requirements for pilots; but when the industry is facing pilot shortage those “safety” measures go out of the window and we offer jobs and benefits regardless the level of experience, bonuses etc… so it is safety in aviation a matter of finances or a real priority?? This is the big question that crosses my mind when I see these type of posts .

Although, Refresher/Recurrent training is a mandatory element for personnel involved in Aircraft operations and for all allied services, but It is also important for Regulators to ensure effective implementation of Regulations. Refresher training in Aviation aids individuals in reviewing past activities and staying updated on significant changes, ensuring their knowledge and skills remain current. During the refresher training at IAA, New Delhi, beside having great and some heated time due to peak Temperature for 15 days, I engaged with colleagues nationwide, enjoying their presence at evenings and discussing the implementation of various regulations. I have personnaly gained insights into new subjects that could revolutionize Indian Aviation by aligning with international standards, particularly in my favourite area Engineering and Maintenance. The subjects where I was much keen and more inclined are: 1. Effective implementation of Reliability programme in Aviation 2. CAR 21 (Manufacturing and Production) 3. Aircraft Leasing 4. Personnel licensing and few other upcoming regulations. and at the end, The main element of effective training program is to have Qualified and knowledgable Trainers to deliver the subject and YES, we had them😊 Thanks to #DGCA, #Goi, Trainers and Organizers. Throughout these years, I've been experiencing in Aviation a lack of Social skills – the ability to Communicate, Collaborate, Understand and Manage Emotions – among different professionals within our sector. Such skills are fundamental pillars for Preventing and Combating Human Errors and promoting a more Robust Safety Culture. As an Aviation Professional (AvP), I believe that knowing how to BE and BEING is as important as knowing how to do it. I see Resilience, Awareness and Empathy as indispensable tools, not only to overcome technical and operational challenges, but above all to create stronger Teams, healthier and more collaborative Work Environments and, most important, a Safer and Sustainable sector. I argue that integrating Emotional Intelligence over every area in Aviation, will build a strong and robust foundation of operational Safety and Efficiency. For that we must change! Change begins with each of us, by Recognizing our limitations, Investing in personal Development and Leading by example. More pilots trained to fly the newest premium long-range jets and, correspondingly, more technicians trained to fix them - more personnel, who once they become experienced, will be highly valuable commodities and keenly sought after by those for whom price is no object. If you're operating jets like these and not paying adequately - you will lose these people. It's just a question of time. #businessaviation #compensation
