Acurio Ventures replaces All Iron Ventures and launches a new €150 million "follow-on" fund. In the European IT ecosystem, Spain and Portugal are booming, as seen by the large number of new companies and funding rounds that are being reported in these two nations. Recently, Yellow, a new venture capital firm, launched with a €30 million fund; Spanish VC Kfund raised $75 million; and Barcelona-based Plus Partners announced its intention to close a $30–$50 million million fund. All Iron Ventures, another Spanish company, is rebranding today. Now calling itself Acurio Ventures, the company is closing its third $166 million (€150 million) fund. The value of Spanish tech is growing faster than other key ecosystems like France or Germany. We are catching up! 2. There is more than just Madrid and Barcelona as tech hubs. Valencia, Bilbao or Málaga are thriving. 3. If we take out the "lunacy" years of 2021-2022, the investment deployed in Spain follows a positive trend, with +2B invested in 2023. 4. There is still a lot to do, to ensure more female-led projects are funded, only 12% of VC investment since 2019 was made into their startups. 5. The future looks promising, Spain is where France was 5 years ago. If we do things right with support from all stakeholders we can create incredible value in terms of jobs and local wealth. 6. More and more collaboration with international funds is happening, as our local VC firms mature and achieve more relevant size and reach.

The combined enterprise value (EV) of Spanish startups surpassed €100 billion in 2023. It puts Spain ahead of Norway, Italy or Portugal. The value of Spanish tech is also one of the fastest growing in Europe, not forgetting that France reached €100 billion in combined startup EV six years ago, and Germany nine years ago. With a combined value of $191 billion, only Cambridge’s tech ecosystem alone is almost worth double Spain’s. We have a lot of work to do! #startups #enterprisevalue #ecosystem
