In the public schools of Ingur and Perundurai, we have intervened to improve the living conditions of more than 6,000 people, building and repairing toilets, and installing an elevated tank with a capacity of 30,000 liters of drinking water. 🚰 ✨ Why is it important? Barrier-free education: The new facilities reduce school dropout rates, especially among girls, who now have safe and adapted toilets to manage their menstrual hygiene. Health and dignity: Access to clean water and hygiene improvements reduce diseases such as diarrhea, which affects millions of children in India. Sustainable impact: We set up school committees to ensure the maintenance of infrastructure and promote good hygiene practices among students, teachers and teachers. 💧 In the Kurnool and Nandyal districts of Andhra Pradesh, India, we are implementing a life-transforming aquifer restoration project. In collaboration with Vicente Ferrer, we are building water bodies, reforesting key areas and training the community in water resource management. In doing so, we seek to improve water security, reduce urban migration and ensure sustainable livelihoods for drought-affected farmers. 🌱✨ By involving the farmers themselves in project implementation, together we create a more secure future for all. Extreme weather events, such as the recent torrential rains in Valencia and sub-Saharan Africa, highlight a harsh reality: not only climate change, but also inadequate land management, amplifies the damage. 💡 More than 1.47 billion people live in flood zones, and 587 million in conditions of extreme poverty. The challenge is immense, especially in vulnerable regions where resources to prevent and adapt are limited. 🔑 Resettling communities, restoring natural barriers and improving urban planning are some of the solutions that have proven effective in countries like the Philippines. But fair funding and global commitment are key.

At COP 16 on biodiversity in Cali, we explored how to integrate the economy in the service of nature. The key: financing nature-based solutions (NbS) and rescuing indigenous peoples' ancestral knowledge to restore degraded ecosystems. 🌍 💡 As Carlos Garriga, director of our Foundation, emphasized, “We need a regenerative economy that supports communities that preserve biodiversity, especially indigenous ones.” Although binding commitments are still lacking, advances in public-private partnerships and success stories in Latin America inspire us to continue pushing for a more sustainable future. 🌱

For millions of children, school is much more than a place to learn. It is the only space where they find safety, access to clean water and sanitary toilets. 🌍 In our collaborations with organizations like the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and World Vision, we have seen how access to sanitation and hygiene transforms the lives of entire communities. From India to Uganda, schools not only educate, they promote a culture of hygiene that improves the health and dignity of families. 💡 “Schools should be a place children call home,” sums up Savithri, headmistress at a school in rural India.

Rising temperatures and changing weather patterns are expanding the range of vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks, increasing the risk of diseases such as malaria, dengue fever or Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in regions previously out of danger. 💡 In Africa, smallholder farmers and fishermen on Lake Victoria have faced persistent flooding and new health challenges. Meanwhile, WHO warns of the arrival of new vectors in urban and rural areas, driven by altered ecosystems. In the fight for global health, climate change is positioned as a silent but implacable enemy. It is urgent to include this dimension in climate adaptation and financing strategies. 🌱

In October, Simon and Laurie completed their incredible “Superhalf Experience” challenge, running 5 half marathons over the past year to raise funds for our foundation. So far, they have raised £878, and the donation link remains active until the end of December! 🎉 The highlights of their adventure: 📍 Cardiff: Simon returned to running after an injury, with an amazing atmosphere! 📍 Lisbon: Spectacular views from Christ the King and the bridge. 📍 Prague: Stunning architecture, although... the trams confused us more than once! 😂 📍 Copenhagen: Nyhavn and the fireworks at Tivoli Gardens made it unforgettable. 📍 Valencia: Despite the rain, Laurie achieved her personal best time and they finished the journey with the big Superhalf medal. 💧 If you want to join this cause and support us, you can still donate 👉 https://gofund.me/3158f913

The well-known “finance COP” in Baku put major challenges on the table: from redefining climate finance to maintaining the goal of no more than a 1.5°C temperature rise. 💡 Water, once again, stood out as a critical indicator: for every degree increase in temperature, water resources decrease by 20%. 🌡️ The bottom line? Steps forward, but much remains to be done to transform ambitions into concrete actions.
