🌊🏆 The inaugural Raymund Pascual Offshore Wind Awards brought together the Philippines’ offshore wind community to celebrate leadership, innovation, and collaboration in the sector. This event has been conceived as a tribute to Raymund Pascual, late BlueFloat Energy’s Country Manager in the Philippines and Founding President of POWER whose passion and dedication to renewable energy continue to inspire us. Raymund was instrumental in driving the advancement of offshore wind in the Philippines and fostering partnerships that remain vital for the sector’s success, and his legacy reminds us that collaboration is at the heart of progress. 🤝 For over three years, BlueFloat Energy has been actively supporting the development of offshore wind industry in the Philippines, driven by our belief in its transformative potential to power the country’s economic growth and deliver on decarbonization goals. 📈 We are convinced that turning this potential into reality requires partnerships that bring together complementary strengths and shared commitment. The Awards recognized key contributors who have played pivotal roles in advancing offshore wind in the Philippines, with trophies being handed to the key movers & shakers of the industry in the private sector as well as a recognition for the work the public sector has done in unlocking the offshore wind potential of the offshore wind industry. The @Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), co-host of the event, also presented the key findings of their Philippine Offshore Wind Supply Chain Report. It emphasizes the importance of local supply chain readiness, strong policy frameworks, and strategic investments to ensure the success of this burgeoning industry. Drawing on insights from over 30 case studies across 18 markets, this paper offers practical guidance on addressing local stakeholder needs while balancing project goals and economic realities. Our CEO, Carlos Martin Rivals and Walid Oulmane, Head of Sourcing & Ports at BlueFloat Energy, visited Asia this week with a clear mission: building our supply chain network in support of BlueFloat Energy’s global offshore wind ambitions.💡 🌊 🔧 Regarding EPC: In #Singapore, we engaged with Seatrium: our discussions reaffirmed our shared vision for offshore wind. This leading EPC partner is poised to play an important role in delivering offshore wind projects globally and supporting the regional industry’s expansion. 🏗️ Regarding Manufacturing: In #China, we met with Dajin Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd, building on the MoU recently signed, we have taken the opportunity to visit their offices to further discuss continuing our collaboration, including exploring potential joint efforts in Europe and other geographies. Additionally, we also visited CNOOD-Wenchong Heavy Industries (CWHI), strengthening ties and exploring opportunities for future collaboration. 💨 Regarding WTG: We met Mingyang Smart Energy , a turbine supplier with ambitious growth plans in offshore wind, to exchange views on key priorities for driving efficiency and securing turbine supply across the global portfolio of offshore wind projects. We are concluded this trip with an optimistic outlook based on the discussions and exchanges that we had with the Asian players. Contrary to some people’s perception, we believe the global supply chain is expanding fast to allow for continued cost reduction in offshore wind and for sufficient capacity to supply its fast growth. By building these foundations, BlueFloat Energy reinforces its commitment to global partnerships that will enhance offshore wind growth not only in APAC but around the world.
