Long-read sequencing in action! ⚡ Fabian Jetzinger, our Teammate and PhD student in the Long TREC MSCA network recently collaborated with #isONpipeline developers in Stockholm. This tool, integrated into OmicsBox, supports reference-free transcriptome reconstruction from long-read sequencing data. At the #LRUA2024 conference, Fabian presented his research on identifying RNA isoforms across biological replicates through the poster “Call & Join vs. Join & Call.” During the LongTREC workshop, he highlighted how #OmicsBox facilitates end-to-end long-read RNA analysis, covering mapping, reconstruction, and metatranscriptomics. This exchange of ideas drives innovation and future improvements in our tools! Read the full article and download the poster in our blog! #BioBam #Bioinformatics #LongReads #RNAseq

A few days have passed since #ECCB24 ended, but I’m still reflecting on everything I’ve learned — it was a lot! One aspect that I still recall was the sense of scientific community. I saw many examples of research achieved through the combined efforts of multiple labs and teams. Certainly, big discoveries can be made when we join forces and share knowledge 🗺️. That is why I enjoy attending conferences — they allow me to stay connected with researchers and foster potential long-term collaborations. That said, I hope that everything I’ve learned and my contribution to #OmicsBox helps make single-cell analysis reachable for any scientist, so my experience can benefit many others 🚀 . See you next year!

New Article! 📋Combining Transcriptomes with TAMA Merge 🧬 Analyzing long-read RNA sequencing data presents unique challenges, especially in identifying novel isoforms. Experimental conditions can greatly influence isoform diversity, making it essential to distinguish true isoforms from artifacts. In this new article Fabian Jetzinger explores these challenges and introduces TAMA Merge, a powerful tool within #OmicsBox 3.3. TAMA Merge enables researchers to combine novel isoforms from different conditions into a unified transcriptome, ensuring even rare isoforms are accurately captured.
