Scientists at the College of the Environment make big impacts on the world. Their work informs how people relate to their surroundings, plan for and use natural resources and understand the processes that shape the planet. Through their research, scientists hold a unique perspective on how science intersects with society. Scientists are increasingly called on to share their expertise and perspectives to inform decision making. Sharing that knowledge successfully requires scientists to be skilled communicators and adept at navigating outreach activities.

UW Environment empowers faculty, staff and students to be science communicators to have even greater impact in the world. Whether preparing for an upcoming media interview, informing a policy decision or telling the story of your research better, the College offers guidance and resources to help scientists and researchers talk about their work.
