In continuation of ALEXBANK’s efforts to spread fraud awareness during International Fraud Week and as part of a weeklong internal campaign that aimed to shed light on different types of fraud, the bank organized a virtual session yesterday for all employees to attend on the topic of Cyber Fraud Awareness. The session was given by ALEXBANK’s very own Abdullah ElRefaie, in the bank’s Cyber Fraud Prevention Office. The session included many Cyber-Fraud related knowledge milestones from Understanding Fraud to Investment Fraud, Fake Prizes, Competition Scams, and Fraud Triangle - and how it consists of 3 elements: Pressure, Opportunity, and Rationalization. The session additionally tackled Account Takeover, Online Scams, Phishing Attacks with real-life incidents and case studies, such as the Alibaba Fraud, WhatsApp SIM Swap Attack and Bernie Madoff Ponzi Scheme. With a mixture of informative knowledge and engaging activities, colleagues were excited to get familiar with the topic, know the tactics of figuring out any scam and how to always stay protected. The session ended with a Q&A session, where all participants had the chance to inform, discuss and reflect. Stay tuned for more sessions soon!

As a continuation of ALEXBANK’s celebration of Pink October and under BeWell Initiative, ALEXBANK has organized a virtual session yesterday that sheds light on Breast Cancer Awareness through an all-female session with one of the best doctors in the field. The session tackled facts and misconceptions about breast cancer, gave pointers on early detection methods alongside the many prevention tips that work best. This was in addition to the doctor informing us of the different types of tests and screening for breast cancer and the role of family history, obesity, age, and childbirth! Our time together during the session gave us the opportunity to openly ask questions through a very informative and interactive get-together. ALEXBANK values our employees’ wellness immensely! This month, we celebrated women. This month, we celebrated colleagues!
