Lithuanian startup obtains $3.2 million in funding to advance AI and automation in advertising RedTrack.io, a Vilnius-based analytics and automation platform for media buyers, has raised $3.2 million in a Series A funding round led by Lead Ventures, alongside participation from InstaVC, Iron Wolf Capital, and angel investor Balázs Gandera. The funding will be used to improve product features and automation processes on its platform, which serves over 800 businesses, including e-commerce and marketing agencies. RedTrack tracks 60,000 ad accounts that collectively generate more than $2 billion in revenue. Here are some interesting figures: ▪️Ukraine ranks second among CEE countries in the number of IT professionals, with 307,000 specialists. AI specialists make up less than 1% of all IT professionals, but there's significant potential for growth. We expect a 330% increase in the number of AI specialists in the coming years. ▪️Over the past 10 years, the number of AI/ML specialists has grown fivefold to 5,200, with nearly 36% of them being young talents aged 21-25. ▪️Compared to other European countries, Ukraine has a higher concentration of AI startups in marketing, gaming, and business software. ▪️Ukraine ranks first among CEE countries in the number of IT graduates, with 25% of them having studied in specialized AI/ML programs. ▪️Each year, 40-80% of Ukrainian startups that raise venture capital receive funding from foreign investors. Today, we at Roosh and AI HOUSE, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, presented the first large-scale research of the Ukrainian AI market, titled "AI Ecosystem of Ukraine: Talents, Companies, Education." The goal is to highlight key industry trends, identify the needs of specialists, and understand Ukraine's place on the global AI map. Rewolucja AI, którą przewidzieliśmy w 2016 roku… (ENG) Back in 2016, together with Bartlomiej Rozkrut I stood on a stage of InternetBeta Conference, talking about AI, and the project we launched called Edward (AI powered intelligent assistant) - it was one of the first AI related presentations in Poland. And our journey with AI has been a rollercoaster. I had dozens of presentations for clients and conference speeches showing the potential of AI and numerous possibilities that are in front of us. We event started AI meetups, a regular event in couple of cities, which was gathering 200-300 people each. But by 2020-2021, interest had faded. It felt like we were shouting into the void. We thought we were glimpsing the future, but little did we know how much was still hidden from view. Then, suddenly, ChatGPT exploded onto the scene in 2022, and the world woke up to AI's potential. It's like looking at our old presentation through a time warp - so much has changed, yet the dream remains! Today, nearly every app we create involves using one of the AI API's. More than that, using no-code solutions you can achieve great results with days or weeks, not months or years. Howewer, most AI solutions feel like simple OpenAI wrappers with a new paintjob. I believe the real, transformative business applications are still to be developed! Meanwhile, tech giants march steadily towards "real" AI. OpenAI has unveiled a 5-step roadmap to "Artificial General Intelligence". Their five-step plan feels both thrilling and daunting. Are we ready for what comes next? Will we even notice the moment when AI transitions from tool to companion, from assistant to innovator? Will we wake up one day to a world reshaped by AGI, much like how AI quietly became part of our lives? As I look back at this first presentation, I see that we've come so far, yet the horizon seems more distant than ever. The path to AGI is not just a technological journey, but a deeply human one. It challenges us to rethink our roles, our purpose, our very definition of intelligence. What are your thoughts on this? #Lithuanian regtech AMLYZE has raised €2.35M in seed funding from #Vilnius-based lead investor Practica Capital, with participation from Lithuanian FIRSTPICK, Coinvest Capital, which invested with CEO of Dokobit Gintas Balčiūnas, CEO and Chairman of DOJUS Group Donatas Dailide, and European Advanzia Bank S.A. A syndicate of 33 business angels NGL also participated in the deal. Founded in #Vilnius in 2019 by Gabrielius Erikas Bilkstys and Alexandre Pinot, CAMS, AMLYZE specializes in the development of anti-financial crime solutions for fintechs, neobanks, and crypto businesses. The startup offers modules for real-time and retrospective monitoring of financial transactions, customer risk assessment, anti-money laundering (AML) investigations, screening for PEPs (politically exposed persons), sanctions, and adverse media. The team includes Jekaterina Govina, former Head of the Financial Market Supervision Department of the Bank of Lithuania, Mindaugas Petrauskas, former Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Lithuania, and 🇺🇦 Egle Kontautaite, former Head of Anti-Money Laundering Prevention Department of the Bank of Lithuania. AMLYZE has clients from the Baltic region and the UK. The startup will use the new investment to accelerate the development of the company's new product - a cross-border information exchange platform to combat financial crime using artificial intelligence and synthetic data. The solution can be used by fintech companies, neobanks, pension funds, and regulators. Practica Capital manages four funds with a total market value of €132M. The firm has invested over €10M from its Practica Capital III fund. It recently announced a second closing of its €80M fund. Firstpick is a venture capital firm and accelerator founded by the former team of the Estonian accelerator StartupWiseGuys, which operated in Lithuania. The size of the fund is €20M. The initial ticket starts at €50-€200K. The partners of Firstpick are Jone Vaituleviciute, Marijus Andrijauskas, Andra Bagdonaite. Founded in 2022 by the ex-managing director of LitBAN Justinas Pasys, NGL organizes angel syndicates to invest in startups. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am for the opportunity to be a part of the Digitask CZ programme called ACA. Not only did I learn from over 150 people across various industries (banking, insurance, marketing, sales, entrepreneurs, engineers, managers, accountants, etc.) about what it means to be a "change-maker" and present AI's potential to their teams (even board members), but I also gained insight into how communities contribute to our learning as we share and grow together.
