  • Meet Solintel Ltd 👋 ☀️Solintel develops and manufactures multifunctional grid-connected and off-grid streetlights that generate green energy using vertical solar panels and a vertical wind turbine, with a battery pack stored inside the pole. In this way, they create a platform for multifunctional services such as air quality monitoring intelligence, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, and other green energy-based services. In the accelerator pre-program, 20 startups participated, and 5 of the best were selected for the main program. All teams received €5,000 in support, and the 5 teams advancing to the main program were awarded an additional €25,000 worth of services to develop and test their solutions in local municipalities. 🍀 The Green Accelerator program is implemented by Sparkup Tartu Science Park, Tehnopol, Baltic Innovation Agency (BIA), and Energex. The KIK (Environmental Investment Centre) and the Ministry of Climate support it.

  • 🚁 Smart Skies Takes Off! 🌍 Yesterday, on the 10th of December, we had the pleasure of hosting our first event in the Estonian - Latvian Interreg Smart Skies project in Tartu. Smart Skies aims to pilot drone-based infrastructure surveillance in Tartu city and Valmiera municipality, refining a common solution informed by these pilot activities. Our inaugural event brought together inspiring examples of drone-based use cases for public services from Vilnius, Lithuania, and Randstad, Netherlands: 🔷  Vilnius: Leveraging drones and AI pipelines to enhance public spaces and services, from improving waste disposal management to planning road maintenance and analyzing traffic flows. 🔷  Randstad, Netherlands: Employing drones for public safety and combating illegal trade in Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam. Drones also play a critical role in managing road and waterway traffic. In addition, our partner Kristena Kutti from TRINITI Estonia Law Firm shed light on the legal and privacy landscape surrounding the use of drone images in Estonian public services. ✈️ Thank you to our amazing partner Estonian Aviation Academy for hosting us for a site visit! 🙏 Thank you to all participants and partners for making this a truly insightful event. Here’s to the future of smarter, safer skies! #SmartSkies #DronesForGood #Innovation #PublicServices #Tartu #Valmiera #Drooniseminar #Sparkup #estlat

  • NATO DIANA announced today the seven companies which will come to Estonia to develop solutions for their innovation accelerator's second year of operations. 13 accelerator sites are operating across the countries of the Alliance this year, which is eight more than in the pilot year, and more than 2600 technological solutions applied for a place at one of them. Over 70 companies were eventually chosen, representing 20 different NATO member states, and seven of them will be starting their development path within the programme in Estonia. The companies in the Estonian NATO DIANA accelerator will be: Scaleout from Sweden; Factiverse from Norway; Resquant, IS-Wireless, and Microamp Solutions from Poland; and Telearmy and Wayren from Estonia. The innovative remote teledriving technology made by Telearmy and already used on the frontlines in Ukraine can be integrated with existing vehicles, allowing them to be driven remotely at long distances and at high-speed using Starlink or Radiolink. Wayren is developing a platform to ensure uninterrupted communications in critical environments, preventing life-threatening delays in mines and on the battlefield. The NATO DIANA Estonian accelerator is led by the Tehnopol Startup Incubator working together with Sparkup Tartu Science Park.  Read more: https://lnkd.in/dGkfEqFw Meet the Estonian startups 👏 :
