  • At Raitwood, we have decades of experience in painting. One year ago we started the operation of the new automated painting line. Here are the most important highlights of our painting line: - The process of painting is faster and more efficient. - We have flexibility in both finishing options and profile/dimension options. - This allows us to have a lot of variation in the product ranges and production lot sizes. All our painted materials are produced based on customer orders. Due to new flow management and tighter production control, we have increased the durability of our products, leading to better quality. We care about nature. Our painting factory is environmentally friendly • Energy saving heat recovery system is in use. • All our paints are water-based. • The wastewater is treated for the paint residues to be removed and then taken to a processing plant. Please have a look at the video that showcases our capabilities. #Raitwood #EcoFriendly #paintingline

  • 🌟 Reflecting on the International Wood Architecture Conference 2024 in Estonia 🌟 Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the International Wood Architecture Conference 2024. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers and organizers for such a diverse and successful event! Our team was present, and we came away with valuable insights and connections to discuss, share, and develop further. Here are some interesting takeaways: •            🏆 Timber Building of the Year 2023: The design process for the winning project, Pelgulinna State Gymnasium, was quite a challenge. According to architect Ott Alver, the Estonian timber sector proved its worth, utilizing all the excellent properties of wood in the construction. •            🌍 Sustainable Design: RO&AD Architects from the Netherlands are specifically focused on using recycled wood and other construction elements, aiming to integrate their buildings into local ecosystems. In Estonia, the reuse of building materials is still largely unexplored. •            💡 Cost Efficiency: By optimizing massive timber through design process, it is possible to build more cost-effectively than with concrete. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and exploring new opportunities in wood architecture! #TimberArchitecture #Sustainability #Innovation #Conference2024 #WoodConstruction

  • 🌟 Thank You to the Southern Unit of the Estonian Rescue Board! 🌟 We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the South Unit of the Rescue Board of Estonia and especially their field manager Sven Raud for their effective and close cooperation over the years. From our experience, we understand the critical importance of preparedness and readiness for emergency situations – and Sven has made invaluable contributions in this regard! Recently, we had the chance to support a large-scale simulation exercise organized by Sven. We provided our territory for the use of the rescue teams, facilitating the gathering of resources and preliminary info sharing for the simulation drill. This involved the Rescue Board, ambulance services and volunteers, a major fire-estinguishing drill at a high-risk facility in the neighbourhood was started – all to ensure a safer environment for everyone. #Collaboration #EstonianRescueBoard #EmergencyPreparedness #CommunitySafety #Raitwood

  • Congratulations to Timbeco Woodhouse and modular kindergarten at Vaela in Kiili Parish – who has been awarded the overall winner at the Prefab House 2024 Estonia competition! 🏆 This remarkable project also won the Best Public Building category and the Special Prize for the Most Energy-Efficient Building. The winning project showcases the best advantages of modular technology, emphasizing the importance of reducing carbon footprints and enhancing construction processes. As Annika Kadaja, CEO of the Estonian Wooden Houses Association, commented, “The winning project highlights the best advantages of modular technology and sets a great example for applying factory-built technology in other public buildings.” The jury praised the successful curved layout of the kindergarten’s group rooms around the courtyard, which seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces. The architecture and planning allow for easy expansion while maintaining the original concept. The Kiili kindergarten building is also the most energy-efficient building of the competition with modern technical systems, solar shading and photovoltaic systems. At Raitwood, we are delighted to have been the wood partner for the exterior cladding of the Kiili Parish kindergarten building. 🌳 #SustainableConstruction #ModularTechnology #EnergyEfficiency #TimbecoWoodhouse #Raitwood # Estonian Woodhouse Association Photo: Timbeco

  • The shelter AVA, a stylish structure enriching the urban space, has been declared open!! Designed and built by architecture students of the Estonian Academy of Arts, the location of the tiered structure intended for relaxation is in the Annelinn district of Tartu apartment buildings. Thoughts were also collected from local residents for the concept of the summer practice task by the first year students. During this project, students gain real-world experience by developing a project that goes from ideas to a finished object built with their own hands. According to Heidi Jagus, the author of the work, the idea was born from the angularity of the district of apartment buildings. "AVA" is like a fun reference to the daily movements of the residents, which offers both children and adults the opportunity to rest for a moment and enjoy their time, she explained. In previous years, the shelters 'Nurk', Kino' and 'Linnutee' have been built in the center of Tartu by EKA first-year students, all of which we supported with Raitwood materials. Photo: Erik Konze

  • We were happy to welcome in Raitwood the second-year architecture students of EKA (Estonian Academy of Arts), who are once again in Tartu implementing a shelter as an educational project, this time called AVA. This project marks the architecture students’ first comprehensive practical teamwork, involving idea development, design, administration, and the construction of a shelter in Tartu’s urban environment. Ivar Dembovski provided an insight from Raitwood. We discussed the production of profiled wood materials, the history of the company's development, the role of wood in binding carbon and mitigating the climate problem, and the history of the formation of today's forests in Estonia. The finishing touches were added to the AVA shelter late last night, and the official opening will take place today, Thursday 18th of July,  at 6 p.m. at Annelinn Tartu!! It was a pleasure to support the educational process and the project’s completion with necessary planing materials. 🌿🏗️🌟 https://lnkd.in/gezhF7K3

  • Last weekend marked a significant milestone for inclusivity and community spirit in Pärnu (the Summer Capital of Estonia), as the Mayor and the Pärnu Lahe Rotary Club officially opened a new beach area designed for people with disabilities and special needs. This project stands as a testament to the dedication and initiative of the all-female Pärnu Lahe Rotary Club, whose unwavering commitment brought this vision to life.   Raitwood is proud to have been a part of this major endeavor, contributing alongside numerous individuals and organizations. We believe in the power of collaboration and community effort to make a difference.   The use of wood in constructing the beach's facilities highlights its versatility and warmth, proving once again that it is a super material for such noble purposes. Its ease of installation and removal makes it ideal for adapting to seasonal changes, ensuring the beach remains accessible during the summer while avoiding ice damage in the winter.   We are thrilled to see the joy and freedom this new beach area brings to its visitors, and we remain committed to supporting projects that enhance the lives of all members of our community. #Inclusivity #CommunitySpirit #SustainableMaterials #Raitwood #PärnuBeach #Accessibility #Rotary #PärnuLaheRotary
