Call for experts – Environmental assessment of Construction Products

ECOS is looking for expert(s) with an in-depth knowledge of the following topic(s):

  • Key environmental assessment methodologies, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), tailored to construction materials. These include key standards underpinning Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
  • Construction products standards and policies (notably the Construction Products Regulation) at EU and/or national and international level.
  • Circularity issues, including circularity indicators.
  • Chains of Custody (CoC) models and their interactions with LCA.

Interested candidates should be able to demonstrate in-depth technical and scientific knowledge in the topic area. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental values. They should have proven written and oral communication skills. Experience with and understanding of the policy context (such as the Construction Products Regulation) in the subject area will be considered a strong asset. Knowledge of the standardisation system, or willingness to learn, is a plus.

The nominated experts will:

  • Participate in technical meetings of CEN (and possibly ISO) meetings to promote ECOS position;
  • Prepare technical input through official comments and contribution to ECOS position papers;
  • Report to and liaise with the responsible ECOS Programme and Technical Managers;
  • Exchange information with ECOS member organisations and other experts when needed.

ECOS offers:

  • A daily fee for preparation of meetings, participation and reporting, as well as other relevant tasks;
  • Reimbursement of travel costs;
  • Per diem to cover accommodation and subsistence costs.
