UNLEASH Hacks have come a long way since the program was launched in 2020. Only this year, there were almost 30 Hacks on 4 continents, engaging more than 750 Talents! From supporting small businesses and young entrepreneurs in Yemen to catalyzing indigenous climate action in Bolivia, 130 Facilitators and over 300 Organizers made an impact in their communities all around the world possible! ✨👏 Stay tuned for what 2025 will bring and how you can engage with UNLEASH Hacks! 🎬

The recent UNLEASH Hack in Yemen brought together 40 young innovators to address economic challenges under the theme ‘Technology for Economic Recovery.’ 👨💻 Talents participated in person and virtually to develop solutions focused on operational efficiency, market access, and customer engagement. Key solutions ranged from a digital platform connecting honey producers and exporters, to a data analytics tool to enhance customer engagement.🤝 The related blog post shares about these solutions and more. Living as a refugee presents with a wide range of challenges including those relating to awareness and access to mental health. 🧠🧘 Last month, in Uganda, 20 Talents with mental health and refugee backgrounds and experiences came together for an UNLEASH Hack to ideate around addressing some of these issues. Solutions they came up with included leveraging digital tools and community champions to increase refugee access to mental health services! ✨🍀 You can read more about the Hack in our latest blog post. A year ago, we hosted our very first Innovation Lab on the African continent! 🌍 UNLEASH Rwanda was our most diverse program to date, with 70% of the world's population represented in one room! Two years ago, UNLEASH India brought together 1,000 changemakers to design innovative solutions for a sustainable future! From a space for children to showcase their creativity and support their mental health to a diabetes monitoring portable system, hundreds of solutions were developed during the week-long Innovation Lab in the Infosys campus in Mysore. He joined UNLEASH to meet youth who also want to create an impact in their communities, and with his team he developed Oriri, a solution that tackles waste management and connects people from Traditional Communities with industry players and funding sources, mapping out and identifying local byproducts to create new income opportunities. The exchanges I had with the diverse realities of the Amazon further unlocked the sense of purpose to create impact in my region that I felt before joining the program. Oriri, the platform that I developed with my team, is a solution with great potential and we are currently deepening our studies to be able to design an implementation plan. We are excited for it to be successful and for the communities in our region to improve their income significantly through our platform." Over a month ago, we brought Brazilian changemakers together for a week of innovation in the heart of the Amazon. But our dream to host an Innovation Lab in the region began years ago, and for the last few months we’ve worked very close with dozens of local organizations and UNLEASH Alumni to bring it to life. Sabrina Almeida, an Innovation and Sustainability Consultant who joined the program as a Facilitator, believed in UNLEASH from the get go: “It was an invaluable experience to facilitate UNLEASH Amazon, for several reasons. For me, the highlight was the experience of collaboratively building a program that respected local views and with an approach that was willing to constantly learn from them. This generated a lot of connection, diversity and a strengthening of identity that is crucial for the sustainability of the Amazon region.” [PT] Há mais de um mês, reunimos agentes de mudança brasileiros para uma semana de inovação no coração da Amazônia. Mas nosso sonho de sediar um Laboratório de Inovação na região começou há anos e, nos últimos meses, trabalhamos em estreita colaboração com dezenas de organizações locais e ex-alunos do UNLEASH para torná-lo realidade.
