Will intermediate crops feed our future renewable fuels? 🌱 Feedstock availability for renewable fuels is a challenge, but intermediate crops is a promising new source. They're gaining traction among renewable fuel producers worldwide, who are partnering with seed and agriculture companies to evaluate, test, and scale up production of these oil crops. Here are two factors fueling their popularity • Intermediate crops are grown when the soil would otherwise be bare, so they allow us to effectively utilize unused land, and increase availability of feedstock for renewable fuels. • Earlier this year, they were added to the EU’s Annex 9 in the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) as a sustainable feedstock for renewable fuels. In our recent episode of the Fuel for Thought Podcast Sylvain Verdier and Mikala Grubb set journey into the world of intermediate crops, teaming up with Bastien Le Bouhellec and Guillaume de la Forest • Saipol from the oilseeds processing company, Saipol (Avril) – part of the Avril Group. 🎧🌿 New seeds of knowledge available right here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dqmUJkWT

🌍 Transitioning to a low-carbon economy isn't just a responsibility - it's a massive business opportunity 👔 Our CEO Roeland Baan is part of the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, and according to their latest report, the global green economy is set to grow from $5 trillion in 2024 to $14 trillion by 2030. The cost of inaction? Over $3.6 trillion in climate-related damages since 2000. But with strategic investment, we can mitigate losses and create new growth opportunities. At Topsoe, we’re committed to driving innovation for net zero, and we believe tackling climate change unlocks economic growth and resilience. Together, let’s turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s competitive advantages. Read the full report: The Cost of Inaction 👉 https://lnkd.in/ggVnFmQz #LetsDecarbonize

✈Getting SAF off the ground - Insigths from our SAF Summit' 100 companies representing the entire eco system for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) came together at our third annual SAF Summit in Copenhagen.📢 The purpose of the summit was to provide a platform for the value chain to engage in discussions on the challenges and solutions for scaling up SAF. This objective is now more important than ever. Because the reality is that SAF has not gained the momentum it needs, with the current production accounting for less than 1% of global jet fuel needs. This poses a major problem because decarbonization of aviation is an essential part of mitigating climate change. 💡But guess what? It’s time to get SAF off the ground! We firmly believe that through partnership and collaboration, we can pave the way for SAF deployment and make cleaner aviation a global reality. Our SAF Summit plays a key role in achieving that. Get a sneak peek from our SAF Summit including quick comments from Breakthrough Energy, Airbus and World Economic Forum 👇 #LetsDecarbonize #SAF

We’re proud to be part of Forestal del Atlántico S.A.’s Triskelion project, located in Galicia, Spain. 🇪🇸 We'll provide our e-Methanol synthesis technology and engineering support to Forestal del Atlántico's ambitious project. Key highlights: 🌱 Triskelion will produce 40,000 tons of e-Methanol annually, while capturing and using c. 56,000 tons of CO2. 📅 Final investment decision in June 2025, with operations planned for January 2028. 🚗 When fully operational, Triskelion will avoid 860,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions annually. That's like taking 200,000 gasoline-powered cars off the road for a year! Our CEO, Power-to-X, Kim Hedegaard says: “We believe e-Methanol will act as a key driver in decarbonizing the energy-intensive sectors and may be one of the leading e-fuels used in reducing carbon emissions in industries such as international shipping. Topsoe and Forestal del Atlántico have a shared ambition to make the Triskelion project a European leader in this space, and we look forward to working together to turning these ambitions into reality.” Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dYuZiu8K #LetsDecarbonize

What’s next, electrolyzers? Green hydrogen is considered one of the most viable alternatives to fossil fuels in industries like steel, cement, shipping and long-distance transportation. It’s produced through electrolysis, using renewable electricity to split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. To put it bluntly, electrolyzers are the backbone of the green hydrogen economy. 🌎 Back in August our CEO, Power-to-X Kim Hedegaard gave his perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by electrolyzer manufacturers to Cipher News. If you’re looking to expand your knowledge on this very fascinating topic this might be a read for you 👉 https://lnkd.in/d6Kpzpvv 📸 Illustration by Nadya Nickels #LetsDecarbonize #SOEC
