Pioneering Sustainable Aviation with Fjord PtX: A technical review ✈ ⚙ In the quest for eco-friendly aviation solutions, Fjord PtX emerges as a beacon of innovation, ready to make great advances in the landscape of air travel. At the heart of this endeavor lies the Power-to-X facility, strategically positioned in Norbis Park, Denmark. Partnering with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Nordværk and Aalborg Forsyning are engineering a paradigm shift towards sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production 🌿 The cornerstone of Fjord PtX is its capability to convert electricity into a versatile energy carrier, enabling the production of SAF from renewable sources. Through a meticulously orchestrated process, electrical power drives electrolysis, splitting water into hydrogen, which is then synthesized with captured CO2 to form sustainable aviation fuel. Anticipated to yield up to 110 million liters annually, the facility stands as a testament to technological prowess and environmental stewardship. Aalborg Forsyning plays a pivotal role, providing critical infrastructure and logistical support. Leveraging their expertise in water management, the multi-utility operation ensures the sustainable provision of water resources for the PtX facility. Whether through rainwater harvesting, or treated wastewater utilization, the solutions are designed to minimize environmental footprint while maximizing operational efficiency 👣 As the participants navigate through the approval process, slated for commencement in 2025 pending regulatory clearance. The significance of Fjord PtX transcends regional boundaries, symbolizing a global shift towards carbon-neutral air travel. As the project forge ahead, driven by a commitment to innovation and sustainability 🌍 Norbis Park extend an invitation to stakeholders and collaborators to join on its transformative journey to become a beacon for green technology and environmentally safer supply in the future. 🌊 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗡𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁-𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌍 Last year Aalborg Forsyning and MAN Energy Solutions announced that they are teaming up to bring the world's largest naturally cooled seawater heat pump to Norbis Park. This 132 MW project, which will meet a third of Aalborg's future heat demand, marks a giant leap in replacing coal-based district heating, slashing CO2 emissions by 160,000 tons annually. ✨ Key Features: ▪ Unprecedented Size: Four 18 MW units, the world's largest, will grace Norbis Park's skyline. ▪ Eco-Friendly Impact: Aalborg Forsyning's pivot promises cost savings and substantial carbon footprint reduction. ▪ Cutting-Edge Tech: MAN Energy Solutions' heat pump impresses with temperatures reaching 98 degrees. 🌱 Environmental Harmony: ▪ Energy Mix: Drawing energy from Limfjorden, the pump blends two-thirds fjord energy with one-third from renewables and the grid. ▪ Global Harmony: Aalborg Forsyning's transition aligns with global efforts to reduce CO2 emissions. 🚀 Project Milestones: ▪ Kick-Off: Construction begins in August 2024, with full operation benefiting Aalborg by January 1, 2029. Join us on this journey towards sustainable energy solutions! 🌏🔗 #NorbisPark #AalborgForsyning #SeaWaterHeatpump #EnergyOfTheFuture

Welcome to Norbis Park - Aalborg Forsyning's business area dedicated to testing and advancing new technologies and methodologies crucial for the sustainable transformation of the energy sector in the years to come 🌿 Within Norbis Park, we are currently constructing new facilities set to become the future providers of district heating, once the coal power plant - Nordjyllandsværket - ceases operations in a few years, shifting away from coal as a heat source 🔥 Covering a vast of 100 hectares, this area is designed as a test center for emerging, future-proof energy forms and circular economy practices. We extend an invitation to other companies to join us in the park for the testing of both temporary and permanent facilities, with a particular emphasis on advancements within the energy sector 🤝 For more details about the project, visit: https://lnkd.in/de-pdzrS Feel free to reach out to our Business Development Department for additional insights into the project; Mathias Brassøe and Eva Lynge Bejlegaard are always available to discuss the visions for Norbis Park.
