🌟 Celebrating 40 years of the LEO Foundation! 🌟 On this day 40 years ago, the LEO Foundation was established by Knud Abildgaard, who, together with his wife Gertrud Abildgaard, owned Denmark’s largest pharmaceutical company, "Løvens kemiske Fabrik" - today known as LEO Pharma. To ensure the company’s future and independence, Abildgaard took the visionary step of transferring ownership to a foundation. Long story short – on 20 August 1984, Abildgaard signed a deed of gift, transferring his shares of the company to the LEO Foundation. This marked the beginning of the Foundation. Today, the LEO Foundation's core objective remains the same: to ensure the continuance of LEO Pharma. Additionally, we are proud to support independent research and awareness activities through our philanthropic efforts. “The LEO Foundation builds on a rich history with research into and treatment of skin diseases at its heart – and our purpose is clear. We want to do our part in paving the way for curing skin diseases. Our efforts as company owner, philanthropist, and investor are all aimed at making a difference for people living with skin diseases,” says Peter Haahr, CEO, the LEO Foundation. Here’s to 40 years - and many more to come!

The art of training the eye Dermatologists and art historians share a unique, highly trained visual acumen that allows them to discern subtle details others might overlook. Both professions demand the ability to observe, interpret and contextualize exact visual cues — whether identifying a skin condition or analyzing the composition of a painting. Did you know that many medical students around the world are required to take a course in art history to refine their observational skills? This underlines the fascinating intersection between medicine and art, and the blending of disciplines highlights how the careful study of form, color, and texture can be a powerful tool in both diagnosing disease and appreciating different visual expressions in art. Let’s talk about skin! #letstalkaboutskin
