What a magical journey! We are exited to share this short teaser from our most recent project about urban revitalization and greening in the Danish rural region of Thy. What if urban planning and architecture was less oriented to accommodate growth? How do we deal with decline of populations, changing demographics, and the shrinkage of public services that we see in many regions around the world: from post-industrial Detroit, over the landscapes of Rust Belts, to increasingly depopulated regions across Europe? Can we shrink with more care and grace? The project is a collaboration between an awe-inspiring group of local citizens in the village of Bedsted, the Arkitektskolen Aarhus, Nationalmuseet, and Emergency Architecture & Human Rights. Our new fabulous intern, Pierrick Chalivet, produced this little 3 min. film about it. Merci!

Don't miss out! The cool cats at Building Diversity are preparing another timely publication. Who are we building for? Join in for some critical introspection and submit your abstract no later than April 24
OPEN CALL FOR PUBLICATION CONTRIBUTIONS → We are excited to launch the open call for contributions for our second publication published with Danish Architectural Press … but, who are we building for? is the second publication, following who is the architect? published in 2023, as part of a series of publications initiated and edited by Building Diversity. We encourage everyone to submit and we are curious to hear about your ideas. You can find more information about the call, submission, timeline and more here: https://lnkd.in/dfGbBpmy Who is “we“? And what is “building“? The intention from the editors is to use the term “we” as a broad category of perspectives, not solely professions related directly to architecture, but instead inviting a broad spectrum of voices. Within the use of a universal "we", we acknowledge geographical, cultural, financial, political and other differences, which has an impact on the understanding of how “we” is interpreted. The intention is that the use of “we” can emphasise the aim for more unity across differences while respecting and celebrating the diversity of contexts. The term “building” recalls the name of Building Diversity and it is intended as an active and broad term, which can include for instance the action of adapting, preserving and transforming. Link to submission of abstracts: https://lnkd.in/dSMTYm-q Deadline for abstract submissions: April 24, 2024 DM or email us for any questions or comments.
