Band of gold is a real horror film tune, in the Source Direct vein, but the flip nocturnal is my pick, loads of tidy beat work and edits with a filthy Reece bassline in the style of a No U Turn production. DAT087 - Danny C & Mike Pears.
We're beyond pleased to welcome Danny & Mike (Motive One, Primary Motive) to Deep Jungle with this single, the first of a series from them for the label. Seemingly lost to time and recently uncovered, "Band Of Gold" is a dark and deep track that takes you straight back to 94/95 with moody pads and bass that hits just the correct spot. Only ever on dubplate and unreleased for almost 30 years, thankfully the DAT for this one was found recently. The B-Side has another unreleased track from 95/96, 'Nocturnal'. Those of you looking for a breather after side A will be disappointed, as it's more darkness through and through... but we wouldn't have it any other way! Distorted bass, dark pads and strings, rolling beats. Both wicked tunes, stay tuned for more to come from these two.
