As we come to the end of the Witches’ Road with Agatha All Along on Wednesday night, many are already starting to wonder: Will Agatha All Along have a Season 2?
After six weeks of episodes dropping on Disney+ to the delight of Marvel fans — millions to be exact as Episode 7 (“Death’s Hand In Mine”) logged 4.2M views in its first day of streaming — a significant chunk of the fanbase is gathering crystals and making manifestation circles for another installment.
**Spoilers ahead for Agatha All Along‘s first season**
Sadly, after Episodes 8 and 9, it would be hard for there to be a second season of Agatha All Along, unless we are following Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) as a ghost.
While it’s unclear at this time exactly how Episodes 8 and 9 will impact the remaining characters — Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke), Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), and Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) — we do know that showrunner Jac Schaeffer is keeping the door open on continuing the storyline.
Will There Be An Agatha All Along Season 2? Jac Schaeffer Responds
While the show was created with the intention of being a miniseries focused on Agatha, the mischievous witch first introduced in WandaVision, we could legitimately see a return of Agatha in her spinoff. Talking with Decider last week after the release of Episode 7 — which she also directed — Schaeffer said she would love to move the story and the characters forward.
“With this show, we wanted to tell a complete story, and I hope that we did. But as a — as a fan and as an admirer, I believe that there is so much more story to tell about all of these characters,” Schaeffer explained.
Will Agatha Harkness Appear In Future MCU Projects?
Yes, this we know for sure.
Marvel producer Brad Winderbaum recently told ScreenRant that while he can’t elaborate much on Agatha’s future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans should rest assured that Hahn’s character will be involved, including in one pending project.
“You know, when you have an icon like Kathryn Hahn has brought to the screen with Agatha you just want to see more of her,” Winderbaum told the outlet. “Yes, there will be more Agatha in the future of the MCU.”
He added of her upcoming (animated) appearance in another Marvel show, “Yes, she is in an episode of What If…? Season 3 and I shouldn’t say more.”
What Could An Agatha All Along Season 2 Look Like?
It’s hard to predict at this junction what an Agatha All Along season 2 could look like but we agree with Schaeffer that there is more story. It seems as though Billy and Agatha are committed to finding Tommy as evidenced by the final moments of Episode 9, so it certainly feels possible that a second season could explore that.
Realistically, Agatha — in ghost form — could turn her attention to training Locke’s character, and potentially his twin brother, Tommy Maximoff, should they be able to find him.
We would also love to see a season where Agatha and Billy team up with the Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), to find Tommy and help Wanda regain her powers following the events of Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness.
At the end of the 2022 film — which saw the Scarlet Witch as the main villain, a sharp left turn from WandaVision‘s storyline and grief motifs — Wanda brought Mount Wundagore on herself and has been presumed dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since then.
Is anyone really dead in the MCU, though? We hope not and we think it could be the basis for a great season 2 of Agatha All Along if Schaeffer got on board.
What do you think? Are you hopeful that Agatha All Along season 2 will happen?
