Horror film fanatics have spent countless Halloweens streaming Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street, but a new maniacal slasher is quickly becoming a spooky season staple: Art the Clown.
Damien Leone’s cult classic Terrifier franchise is a gruesome addition to your horror movie queue. First portrayed by Mike Giannelli and now played by David Howard Thornton, Art the Clown made his terrifying debut in a few short films before making his first feature appearance in 2013’s All Hallows’ Eve.
Art experienced a degree of cult appeal when the first Terrifier debuted in 2016, but earned more mainstream acclaim when the hotly anticipated sequel was released in 2022. A third Terrifier film is currently making a killing at the box office, earning almost $50 million worldwide and a Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score. A fourth film has already been confirmed.
You can’t stop Art the Clown; you can only hope to contain him. If you’re in the mood for a frightening Halloween stream, you can’t go wrong with the Terrifier franchise. Here’s where you can watch all the movies online.
Are The Terrifier Movies On Netflix or Hulu?
Nope. Unfortunately, the Terrifier franchise isn’t currently streaming on Netflix or Hulu. Another victory for Art the Clown.
Where To Watch All Hallows’ Eve (2013):
We know you’re familiar with the Terrifier franchise, but did you know Art the Clown’s feature film debut took place in 2013’s All Hallows’ Eve? Oh, you did? Look at you reading the intro. Good for you!
Damien Leone’s directorial debut, All Hallows’ Eve is a series of shorts starring, you guessed it, Art the Clown. The movie is currently streaming for free on Tubi and the Roku Channel. You can also watch the film on Shudder and AMC+.
Where To Watch Terrifier (2016):
Art the Clown doesn’t quite have the global recognition of Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, or Freddy Krueger, but the first Terrifier film has morphed into a cult classic. The low-budget indie slasher flick follows the now-infamous clown as he terrorizes three women on Halloween night.
Terrifier marks the first appearance of David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown. Per IMDb trivia, Mike Giannelli, the actor who portrayed Art in All Hallows’ Eve and the previous shorts, decided not to reprise his role due to the time and effort it took to apply the heavy prosthetics and makeup.
Thankfully, Terrifier is available to stream in a variety of places, including Tubi, Peacock, Roku Channel, Pluto TV, and Amazon Freevee.
Where To Watch Terrifier 2 (2022):
Wanna take a stab at the highest-rated Terrifier film? That’s right! It’s Terrifier 2. Horror franchises are obsessed with sequels and critics agree that Leone’s 2022 followup improves upon the original movie. The second film follows a resurrected Art the Clown as he returns to wreak havoc on Miles County when he targets a teen girl and her younger brother on Halloween.
Terrifier 2 is Certified Fresh — 86% on Rotten Tomatoes — and you can watch this engaging but long (138 minutes?!) sequel on Amazon Freevee, the Roku Channel, and hoopla.
How To Watch Terrifier 3 (2024):
Unfortunately, Terrifier 3 isn’t currently available to stream. If you want to see Art’s latest rampage, you’ll have to make a trip to a theater near you. Decider’s Anna Menta believes Terrifier 3 might land on VOD around mid-November 2024, so plan your Thanksgiving accordingly.
Happy Halloween!
