EXCLUSIVE: Faith-based multimedia collective The Salvation Poem Project has unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming animated feature film, Light Of The World, which is set to launch in U.S. cinemas in September 5, 2025.
Told through the perspective of a teenage John the Apostle, the film follows Jesus Christ’s trajectory from the beginning of his ministry on earth through to miracles such as turning water to wine at Cana and raising Lazarus from the dead, and then his crucifixion and resurrection.
The synopsis reads: “It’s 30 AD and everyone is expectantly awaiting the coming Messiah. While Jesus isn’t exactly what they imagined, there is something special about this man. Soon John, James, Andrew, Peter, and others begin to follow Jesus on an unexpected adventure.”
The production gathers a raft of top-flight animation talents including directors John J. Schafer (Superbook) and Tom Bancroft (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan), with Animation Director Tony Bancroft (Mulan, Mary Poppins Returns, Space Jam: A New Legacy).
