Warwick Davis, Gemma Arterton, Charles Dance, Julie Walters and Richard E. Grant are among the voice cast for animated TV special Master Moley.
UK outfit Signature Entertainment is selling the 30-minute family special, marking a rare foray into shorter form content for the feature distributor and producer.
The show, currently in production, will follow the adventures of a mole who hopes to be chosen as the keeper of a magic book which will bring peace between humans and moles. The story originated as a bedtime story created by James Reatchlous. Signature handles world sales and UK distribution and is hoping the Christmas-oriented special can spawn future episodes.
Tony Nottage (Saving Santa) of Nottage Productions is producer. Space Jam and The Little Mermaid animator Leon Joosen is director. Script comes from Ricky Roxburgh and Arthur Landon, with animation by Cosmo-Giantwheel.
Commenting on the production, Billy Elliot and Paddington star Walters, who voices the roles of Mrs. Moley and The Queen, said, “It’s going to be fantastic. People are going to love Master Moley and I have loved doing it.”
Harry Potter and Willow star Davis, who voices Master Moley, commented, “I’ve had a fantastic time voicing this lovable and endearing character and I can’t wait for Master Moley to be enjoyed by kids and families for years to come.”
