  • Quicksand

    New Feathers Anthology

  • The Gradient of Humanity

A 15ft x 3ft art installation designed to challenge the view of race as a construct. By arranging photographs of friends, partners, and colleagues along a gradient of their own skin tone, the viewer ultimately finds themselves unable to classify where one race ends and one race begins. Shown at ArtPrize 2013, the largest art competition in the world.

  • Volunteer Local First

In 2007, while acting as the Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity, I noticed a disheartening trend. Volunteers were coming for vacation, not to actually help. One didn't even know how to hold a hammer. This epidemic of "Voluntourism" is hurting our communities and nonprofits.

By encouraging volunteers to work in their communities first, we not only strengthen our homes to support us when we volunteer abroad, but learn what skills we are good at to offer the most abroad.
