𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 This week, the FutureHotel Innovation Network took place in #Heilbronn having as central topic Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the hotel industry. The objective was to dive into the insights and outcomes from our ongoing FutureHotel research that will result in a #study about »𝐀𝐈 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬«. Carina Pardek shared selected use cases from the study and presented real-world examples, emphasizing the impact AI can have on the hotel guest, hotel employee, and hotel business. To better understand current applications for hotels we looked at AI solutions for review and reputation management, with a tandem impulse from Maximilian Lüders from MARA Solutions (AI provider) and Steffi Gruber from DQuadrat Living GmbH (hotel operator and AI user). From their impulse, we learnt how AI can overtake a hotel’s employee task to respond to online guest reviews and help them manage their online reputation faster, easier and more efficient, all from one platform. As a quantifiable benefit of this example they highlighted time savings of 26 hours per month with an equivalent in cost savings of 1.100 Euro per month. Another use case was about AI solutions and use of sensors in tracking the live number of guests as well as building management (e.g. HVAC), with a tandem impulse from Pascal von Burg from Xovis (AI provider) and Jan Müller from Eliona Smart Building Assistant by IoTEC AG (AI integrator). Their solution can not only help hotels reduce their heating and cooling costs with more than 15%, but also contribute to higher guest ratings of services and amenities. Dennis Stolze from Fraunhofer IAO presented the possibilities that AI offers for cognitive environments and emphasized their importance for #well-being and #health in the workplace. He introduced us in the »𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭« dicovered by Radvansky und Copeland (Source: Radvansky, 2011). This effect describes how our memory deteriorates when we move from one room to another. 💡 Consider your approach to AI NOW before you walk through the next door because due to research insights it might happen that you forget everything. #ESG #ClimateCrise #ClimateChange #needToActNOW #ClimateProtection #UN Limit soon to be exceeded according to the UN Today was not only the World Environmental Day, today UN Secretary-General Guterres mentioned as well the importance in acting soon! "We need an exit from the highway to climate hell,’ said Guterres during his major climate speech in New York. May 2024 was the warmest since weather records began. This was the twelfth month in a row that a global temperature record had been set. The UN estimates that the global average annual temperature will soon exceed the 1.5-degree mark, at least temporarily. ‘We are playing Russian roulette with our planet,’ said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday - and called for drastic measures. Guterres said that the people still had it in their hands to turn the tide. However, this would require significantly more climate protection to be implemented over the next 18 months. Those who contribute the least to climate change will be hit the hardest by the consequences. ‘We cannot accept a future in which the rich are protected in climate-controlled bubbles while the rest of humanity is ravaged by deadly weather in uninhabitable countries,’ he said. find out more here: https://lnkd.in/d2yWxNUV

Introducing New Mochi 1.

As AI, XR, and other technologies reshape cultural production, teaching in the Creative Industries must evolve by integrating technical skills and interdisciplinary learning while preserving traditional techniques and critical thinking. To ensure a rich, inclusive cultural landscape, we must prioritise equitable access to technological tools, ethical AI practices, and foster collaboration between artists and technologists. At FASTLAB, we are dedicated to driving this evolution, bridging the gap between art, science and technology to cultivate the next generation of innovative creators. And in the article that follows - @Christian Ritter spells out the how as well as the why!

❗️Artificial intelligence is becoming more and more present in everyday life. What some find disconcerting also holds great potential. Such applications can also be used in the catering industry - for example to design menus, plan purchases and increase efficiency in the kitchen 👩🍳👨🍳 However, according to Gastgewerbe Magazin, only a few businesses in Germany have made use of them so far. #life #food #hotel #kitchen #germany #business #efficiency #application #gastronomy #breakingnews #transformation #foodinnovation #artificalintelligence Bundeszentrum für Ernährung 👇

The flexibility of best-of-breed systems offers a tailored approach, enabling hoteliers to build a tech stack that truly meets their unique needs. 💡 During our webinar with Event Temple, Florian Montag highlighted the limitations of "all-in-one" systems, drawing on the clunky inefficiencies of the past when hotels were forced to adopt massive solutions but only utilised a small part of features. Check out the recording in the comments, and explore more about how best-of-breed works and why it’s driving our industry forward! 🚀

Exciting news from the world of bioökonomie.de ⁉️ Rethinking the baking quality of wheat: A new joint project aims to develop new varieties of baking wheat using state-of-the-art breeding and analysis methods. The aim is to improve bread quality and at the same time reduce greenhouse gases when baking bread. The Julius Kühn Institute (JKI), the Martin Luther University (MLU) Halle-Wittenberg, the University of Bielefeld and the company KWS Saat SE are involved in the project. ❗️Important to know: The protein content of wheat has an influence on baking quality 🍞 ,🥨, 🥖, 🥐 & 🍪 You are probably wondering what the bioeconomy actually is 🤔 The bioeconomy describes the transformation from fossil raw materials to a sustainable economy - the bioeconomy relies on biological resources and processes and is orientated towards natural material cycles. #food #wheat #baking #project #research #european #innovation #bioeconomy #breadquality #materialcycles #substainability #transformation #bakingindustry #biologicalresources #lifecycleassessment #naturalmaterialcycles #reducegreenhousegases bioökonomie.de Bioökonomie Verstehen. How to Make a #HotelKitchen? The title is a bit pretentious, but the article will contain the answers to the question of how to make a #hotel #kitchen, from the perspective of a cook and kitchen chef. Maybe it might be a little #more than what a #kitchenchef needs to know. My readers will decide this at the end of the article. My aim is to bring #innovative hotel kitchen #technologies to the agenda and at least share what I know, so that we do not make the same #mistakes we have made before in new hotel kitchen construction. Professional hotel kitchens, #which I also mentioned in my 2024 World Gastronomy and Tourism Trends #article, are taken into #account with the same care as a hospital when today's #gastronomytrends are taken into consideration. Architects and engineers take into account much more detail than before in the #construction of hotel kitchens, which are built taking into account the #latesttechnology hygiene and cleaning principles. Further steps completed ✅ With great enthusiasm, expertise and creative ideas, representatives from tourism, mobility, gastronomy, and hospitality sectors in our pilot municipalities Werfenweng, Weissensee, and Mallnitz actively participated in the measures workshops of the FFG-funded #AUTOFREI project. Our goal: advancement of climate-friendly leisure and tourism mobility. 🔍 Over the past months, target group-specific surveys were conducted in these pilot communities and focused on the three target groups: tourists, the local community, and tourism staff. Based on these insights, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and EGTC Alpine Pearls developed personas and carried out a comparative best practice analysis, that helped us identify gaps and needs for better accessibility and climate-friendly mobility in the communities. All of these findings and the proposed measures were further analysed through four critical lenses together with the decision-makers and local experts: responsibility, opportunities for cooperation, barriers, and implementation requirements, always considering the unique local context of each community. 🔜 The next milestone is the further development and submission of concrete concepts to the municipalities after the measures have been analysed again for their impact with the help of a special planning tool. #projects #sustainable #climatefriendly #tourism #mobility #AUTOFREI #CARFREE #greentourism #AlpinePearls FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH
