Halozyme knocks on door of Evotec with $2 Bn, Evotec doesn't answer. So Halozyme tells the world about it. Highly unusual for a company to broadcast an offer publicly as a statement letter, just because no one at the target company is willing to engage in a private discussion. Now the offer has been withdrawn by Halozyme, what did Evotec miss? As a publicly traded company, Evotec's board, which holds fiduciary responsibility, will need to justify to shareholders why they refused to consider a $2 Bn offer for their company that is worth $1.5 Bn or 33% premium. Halozyme up 15%, Evotec down 18%. Interesting open letter from Halozyme about this event.

A team from ZHAW Zurich has showcased the transferability of CHO-cell-based mAb production processes from geometrically dissimilar stirred bioreactors for fed-batch and perfusion processes, the team has opened up new possibilities for cost savings and increased yields. Their study found that the high volumetric productivity in the perfusion processes can lead to cost savings, smaller bioreactor sizes, and maintained manufacturing capacity in production plants. Alternatively, yields could be increased by a factor of 2.8 to 3.2 while still using the same bioreactor size. Congratulations to Tubulis GmbH! The company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Fast Track designation to its lead antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) TUB-040 for the treatment of patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. TUB-040 is a NaPi2b-targeting Exatecan ADC based on Tubulis’ proprietary P5 technology with superior biophysical properties that demonstrated effective and durable responses in a range of preclinical models, including ovarian cancer. The candidate is currently being evaluated in a multicenter Phase I/IIa study (NAPISTAR 1-01, NCT06303505) in patients with platinum-resistant high-grade ovarian cancer or relapsed/refractory adenocarcinoma non-small cell lung cancer, who have exhausted other available treatment options. #mabs https://lnkd.in/ePUNUgkZ

Source: Analytical chemistry This article presents a sensitive and comprehensive method for analyzing signaling lipids using targeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The method overcomes challenges such as a wide dynamic range, isomeric and isobaric species, and unwanted interaction along the separation path. It allows for the monitoring of 388 lipids in a single run of only 20 minutes and has been successfully applied to analyze the human plasma signaling lipidome and investigate lipid signaling pathways during platelet activation. This method provides unprecedentedly comprehensive analysis and direct insight into signaling pathways.
