Electronica 2024: New Reference for Microwave Measurements The SPECTRAN V6 XPR series of real-time spectrum analysers from Aaronia AG set new standards - with measurements up to 140GHz being supporting, while still offering the advantages associated with low-cost USB instrumentation. They have a real-time bandwidth reaching 490MHz and a 3THz/s sweep speed. By using them, it is possible for high-frequency, rapidly changing signals to be reliably analysed and evaluated in detail. Units are available that have a 10dB noise figure (NF) at 77GHz, making them suitabe for automotive radar measurements in the automotive sector. Ultra-Low Power Cellular design with Nordic Semiconductor's #nRF9161 and #nPM1300 Battery-powered devices typically spend most of their operational time in a low-power state, waking up intermittently to perform specific functions before returning to sleep. The battery life of these devices is influenced by three key aspects of the microcontroller's operation: -Run/Active Mode: This mode consumes the most power as the device actively performs tasks such as fetching sensor data, communicating with the Cloud, and running algorithms. -Standby/Idle Mode: In this state, the device performs minimal operations, such as running an idle thread or executing a while loop, and consumes moderate power. -Deep Sleep Mode: This is the most power-efficient state, where the system minimizes power usage by shutting down non-essential functions. For example, the Stratus Pro achieves deep sleep by turning off the UART. The Stratus Pro exemplifies ultra-low power consumption through strategic hardware and firmware optimization. Initially, we set the nRF9161 modem to low-power mode and then disable the UART. This process allows the entire device, including the nRF91 microcontroller and the nPM1300 power management unit, to operate on less than 9 µA. This level of efficiency is a direct result of meticulous design and optimization efforts. This environment includes interfaces for data collection and control, as well as ML capabilities for model training, deployment, and inference. The O-RAN specifications offer detailed descriptions of ES use cases, including message flows between involved entities and the ML framework. Building on this foundation, we have developed an ES-rApp that performs RCR using Deep Q-Learning to optimize EE. By leveraging RL, the ES-rApp can intelligently recognize hidden dependencies between O-RU configuration, power consumption, throughput, PRB utilization, and user distribution across beams, allowing it to dynamically adjust the number of active RF channels. This enables efficient reconfiguration of the O-RU, achieving energy savings during low-traffic periods while maintaining high QoS during peak times. This blog post provides an overview of the EE framework based on use cases defined by the O-RAN ALLIANCE, followed by the ES-rApp implementation. In dual-function radar communications (#DFRC), the radar receiver output will show multiple peaks representing the different targets' ranges. Each peak comes with surrounding side lobes called #range #side #lobes (#RSLs). Since a different signal is used each time instead of the same one, the peaks and RSLs do not stay synchronized, making it difficult to determine Doppler shift and suppress clutter. It serves the #user #equipments (#UEs) by employing multiple #access #points (#APs) connected to a #central #processing #unit (#CPU). In this paper, they focus on designing beam combiners for the #APs under limited availability of the pilots. They argue that the received #signal-#to-#interference #plus #noise (#SINR) can be maximized if received signals at each #AP are beam combined in a way that it aligns with the desired signal and nullifies the interference arising due to the pilot reuse. DS2842-800 is eight times the 1-wireness of DS2484 We've got the DS2484 in stock, that our I2C-to-1Wire converter board https://lnkd.in/epU79iwD and we also now have a prototype breakout for the DS2842S-800 which has 8 selectable channels. on one hand, you can always have multiple 1-wire sensors on a single 1-wire bus, but you have to deal with ROM addressing to know which is measuring what. by having 8 separate channels you can be more sure about what each sensor is sensing, and it was pretty easy to add support - just one more function for adjusting the active channel. #Adafruit #1WireTech #DS2842
