💡 "His [PD Dr. Gerhard Schmalz / Outpatient Clinic for Dental Conservation and Periodontology, University of Leipzig] conclusion: Lumoral is a possibility for the prevention of mucositis that requires further evaluation for the homecare setting, particularly with regard to the question of what effect the heat development has on the implant in the long term. In the case of existing implants, he sees a corresponding prevention potential in the prevention of mucositis. Today we would like to present our newly published study, which was compiled by three of us: Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr, Dr. Ulrich Volz and Dr. Gregor Hocevar. Their focus was on the esthetics and functionality of zirconia implants in the posterior region. The study showed how ceramic implants can be used successfully in difficult areas such as the posterior maxilla. Monoblock Dual Mobility - the best choice for reducing the risk of THR dislocation. Dislocation is the second most common reason for early THR surgery revision, coming in just after infection and accounting for 21.7% of all revisions1. Dual Mobility (DM) prostheses significantly reduce the risk of dislocation due to their larger femoral heads, which offer better stability and range of motion than fixed bearing cups. Among DM designs however, Monoblock cups outperform Modular cups by providing the largest "Jump Distance" (JD). This is because Modular cups include a metal liner which limits the size of the head/liner construct and alters the centre of rotation.
